Comedy pushes limits. That’s why Margaret Cho is your pusher woman. She represents her hometown San Francisco beautifully. What a beautiful city and woman. Let’s celebrate Cho because that’s what we do here.
Too many celebrities get chopped up and spit out for no reason. I prefer celebrities like Margaret because she speaks her mind freely. Should we start punishing people based on their life’s perspectives?
The Korean American comedian is very vocal about change and social issues. Some will take what she said and twist it in a knot. That’s wrong. Although there’s a price to fame, it shouldn’t cost everything.
You see Cho can be extreme like Russell Brand. As a standup comedian, her comedy compares with Amy Schumer. And the comedic actress plays great supporting parts too.
Picture Margaret Cho and Ken Jeong in a movie head-to-head. Margaret Cho gets recognized because she developed her talent. Who watched Cho on the View? Her and Whoopi have awesome chemistry. You can’t fake it.

Plus Margaret Cho’s brand is built to last. Can you believe she’s 47? Her face doesn’t look a day over 35. I admire celebrities that extend their time in showbiz.
Hollywood and entertainment are the most superficial businesses. You gotta constantly prove yourself in order to make it. The funny girl has done just that.
Whether through music, on TV, or in movies, Margaret Cho’s name rings your bell. Does she have poise and grace or what? Yet her filthy mouth barks attention. I would love to see her live in person.
Funny Girl is a 1968 musical film starring Barbra Streisand. Funny girl Margaret Cho creates throwback material by paying homage to Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor. She is a true comedian who breaks through glass ceilings.
What is more, we appreciate Margaret Cho for entertaining us and rocking the microphone for all these years.

Who are your five favorite standup comedians? George Lopez makes my list because he is a distinguished gentleman like Eddie Murphy. It’s not always a bad thing when the gray hair starts showing. The best comedians are experienced on stage and in life too.
This doesn’t mean soldiers need to take a bullet or need to get fired at and take cover. Funny people get my drift. I’m a long time George Lopez fan.
You see there is a lesson in Lopez’s story. That’s why Lopez is a focal point in Elite Latino Comedians: Best in Show Biz. Remember elite isn’t a bad word but fuck is. All I am saying is there is nothing wrong with doing your best. This Hollywood star keeps shining especially in dark times.

That’s when you know you’re on top. The tabloids can write anything and it doesn’t faze you. George Lopez tells the truth. He takes risks. For instance, Spare Parts was a film that could have failed. Instead this movie showcased his skills as a dramatic actor much like Reign Over Me did for Adam Sandler.
What is more, the Latino, Asian, and African American communities respect Lopez for championing important causes. I highly recommend watching Spare Parts- a true story about a Latino high school beating MIT in an underwater robotics tournament. It is thought provoking.
Plus the movie is funny. How can you not laugh with George Lopez? If Steve Harvey is the #1 Answer, then George Lopez is Numero Uno.
The Mexican American actor has came a long way to make it big. He got here by staying focused. So the moral of the story is to don’t lose focus and keep trying. George got knocked down on the ground, but he got back up. And that’s what champions do.

Great comedians like Adam Sandler make not so great movies sometimes. The tradeoff is that Adam Sandler makes really great movies here and there. No one doubts his funniness. Watch 15 minutes of Adam Sandler when having a hard time laughing.
The remedy for boredom is comedy. Adam Sandler could be your CVS pharmacist. He dispenses his jokes like medicine.
What is more, few comedians make great actors. Tell me what beats Adam Sandler in rare form. Reign Over Me remains one of my favorite movies because it showcases all of the comedic actor’s gifts.
Are you looking forward to the Do-Over? This Netflix original starring Sandler and David Spade is about two friends faking their deaths and taking on new identities. Watch the 3 minute trailer and try not to crack a smile.

Why There Will Only Be One Whoopi!

Few compare to the likes of Whoopi Goldberg. Right now Whoopi engages with more than 1.6 million Facebook fans. Plus she leads about 1.1 million Twitter followers.
There won’t be another Whoopi. There is only one Sister Act with legendary status. Show sista some respect. And show Whoopi Goldberg the money. She’s accumulated both fame and fortune throughout her prestigious career.
Weeks ago I watched Whoop’s Jumpin’ Jack Flash. The Hollywood star displayed why she is the cream of the crop. Who owns Eddie on DVD and VHS? Don’t ask me why I have 2 copies on different systems. Maybe, my love for Whoopi Goldberg runs deep.
Before Kelly Ripa was a household name, Whoopi was your woman. Who watches the View only because of Whoopi’s presence? I love it when she says welcome to The View. I enjoy the view too.
I got around to watching it today. It’s amazing how far she’s came. Check out Whoopi Goldberg in a pool full of milk. The Dairy Queen may be the best in TV and Showbiz.

She’s been entertaining the world for years at a super high level. Most entertainers cannot do the things she does daily. If you enjoy premium entertainment then choose to ride Whoopi because she’s fueled with premium energy.
Who else offers the special deal Whoopi serves? It’s always a treat seeing Whoopi perform on multiple outlets and platforms. Her sketch at the Oscars stole some of Chris Rock’s shine. The problem is that she outshines everybody.
The standup comedian will perform in Charleston this month. Her humor is one of a kind. Also, she tells rough jokes. In her words, “you know I’m rough.” That’s the way I like it. Tina Turner can verify this. “We’re gonna do the finish rough.”
If Ellen is the lightning of daytime talk then Whoopi brings the thunder.

How George Carlin Stirred Up Controversy

Comedians respect George Carlin’s tithes and offerings. Moreover, George Carlin greatly contributed to society with his witty observations and realism. He saw life neither as a fairy tale or a reality show.
It is impossible to agree with all of Carlin’s controversial views and insights. But admire the funnyman’s fearlessness and tenacity. The legend lambasted corporations and institutions, who really run the world- NOT girls…sorry Beyonce.
Furthermore, it took big balls for George to go against feminism. Remember standup comedy is tongue-in-cheek. Carlin supported empowering women in the same way that Mark Twain advocated emancipating slaves. Remind yourself comedy is more figurative than literal.
Additionally, exceptional comedians can persuade crowds better than illusionists with their timely words and naughty gestures. 
George Carlin explained the game and broke the rules. He was the complete standup comic. The celebrity disseminated information to the tired, poor, and huddled masses. It might seem odd but he engaged both mainstream and underground fan bases. In other words, George had money flowing on bridges and inside tunnels- from all directions.
George Carlin’s comedy wasn’t too extreme like Russell Brand’s erotic escapades. Carlin couldn’t compete with Jim Carrey’s loose movements and crazy facial expressions. However, George Carlin was an original entertainer and arguably the best.

Before Bill Maher came on the scene and pissed off Christians, George Carlin pissed off all religions first and foremost. Yes, Bill borrowed material from George. Comics steal jokes because it is a rite of passage. It’s actually insulting when your comedy isn’t recycled. Dave Chappelle reworks Richard Pryor’s comedy in the same way Kobe Bryant stole Michael Jordan’s jumper.
I feel George Carlin was the Larry Bird of standup comedy. You will always recall his impact on the game. Sometimes, he stepped out of bounds on purpose. Plus, George Carlin intentionally delivered flagrant fouls.

Louis C.K. Rolled Into 1 Big Fattie

Do you watch Louie on FX? I used to binge watch episodes every now and then. Louis C.K. is George Carlin, George Lopez, and Jerry Seinfeld rolled into 1 big fattie. The comedian observes life from another lens and a different scope.
Who are your top 10 comedians working today? Louis C.K. makes my top 10 because of his nonchalant style. I like him better than Kevin Hart, who goes overboard sometimes.
Louis C.K. is old fashioned and distinguishable. He gives you just enough. Louie won’t wave a big juicy steak in your face because then you’ll bite off more than you can chew. He’ll feed you one forkful at a time like a true gentleman.
If you appreciate the comedic genius of Kevin James, then Louie is your guy. Comedy is weak without a strong personality. Louis C.K. lays in the cut, but lives on the edge. FX labels his Louie material TVMA (Mature) for this reason.

The comedy business has changed significantly since yesterday. It’s no longer the hardest gig in the entertainment industry. Talented actors have a much harder time than talented comics. You’re not going to make it unless you look like Olivia Wilde and act like Julia Roberts, sorry.

Can you imagine Louis C.K., Jim Carrey, and Ricky Gervais in the same movie? Tell me you would go see that flick.
You see Louis C.K. became a standup comic when the tough got going. Back in his day, getting attention from the media (they called it press) was a science. Nowadays, anything can potentially go viral. 

I admire Louis C.K.’s brand of comedy. Louis C.K. blew up. Who could have predicted that he would get this huge? I highly recommend his standups because they tell the truth and nothing but lies.

Remembering Robin Williams

Do you remember watching Flubber as a kid or a grownup even? Who could forget that bubbly giant blue genie from Aladdin? How about that tear-jerking and gut busting Patch Adams movie? Like you, Robin Williams serves my memory well. He had six senses and humor was one of them.
Robin Williams was an alien because his comedy was out of this world. Moreover, his spirit is still alive. We always saw him in a bright light. He was a kind, generous, and genuine human being.
Most of his movies like Jack, Happy Feet, and Bicentennial Man brought families closer together. They were also meaningful and thought provoking. Many of his films reflected on humanity.

We find that life is a set of circumstances. The path is never straight because there are roadblocks and redirections. Yet, we “get by with a little help from our friends.”
Robin Williams was a friendly guy. He could relate to almost anyone from Hollywood’s elite to the cashier struggling to pay rent. And The Good Morning Vietnam actor could identify with the American Marine serving his 3rd tour in the Middle East too.
In fact, the great comedian went over to war-torn territory to tell jokes in front of our brave troops. This should show you Mr. Williams was sincere. He cared deeply about the lives of others, especially his family.

I feel you are not measured by the amount of money you leave, but by how much happiness you bring to others. Have you seen Robin Williams HBO standup special? All of his standups are such a pleasure to watch. While displaying his talent, creativity, and might simultaneously, the legend seized moments.
