John Wick: Chapter 4 Countdown: A Time for Action

John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming in 4 days. Have you bought your tickets yet? Are you excited as I am about seeing it? Expect action at its greatest core because of the great actors and director.

I can only blog good things about Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski. Many are familiar with Keanu Reeves and his rise as a star but do you know anything about the John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski? Did you know the director is a professional stuntman himself? It’s amazing what the Internet teaches you. Sometimes the directors don’t get enough credit because the stars outshine them.

What is your favorite John Wick movie? I like John Wick 3: Parabellum co-starring Halle Berry the best. Like always, Laurence Fishburne did an awesome job too. The third one came out in 2019 and grossed over $327 million at the box office. Can you believe the first one came out in 2014? It is still going strong after all these years. 

They Had to Make Another One

John Wick 4 is not only an action but a neo-noir film. That combination puts it in a unique category. Fans will enjoy the components of the script. Expect big numbers at the box office. Could it dethrone D.C.’s Shazam: Fury of the Gods? We shall see. 

After researching the film I’ve discovered some things worth sharing. First I must inform you the plot is out of this world. I haven’t got the chance to read the script but it seems well-written judging by the actors’ lines in the trailer. I’m looking forward to seeing the new character they created called Akira played by Rina Sawayama. She seems like an ideal addition to the cast. 

The Reviews Are In

If you follow my Twitter handle, you would know I Retweeted Rotten Tomatoes recently. The critics have spoken and gave John Wick: Chapter 4 high marks. In fact, the film received a certified fresh Tomato score of 93 percent. Most of the time Rotten Tomatoes gets it right. I don’t think the consensus is wrong about John Wick 4.

This is the highest rated film in the franchise. When it is all said and done, it wouldn’t surprise me if the box office numbers exceed north of $250 million. Prepare for anything. Like the Scream 6 movie with star Jenna Ortega, no one predicted such success.

Although this movie was shelved and initially had a release date of May 27, 2022, March 24, 2023 is perfect timing. Spring just started today and that means it’s time for action.

A Time for Action

John Wick: Chapter 4 will keep fans on the edge of their seats. There’s so much anticipation. I can’t wait. Are you ready for some action? We’re 4 days away from a dynamic viewing experience. How far have they gone to achieve the affect they want on the audience? Will you go see it in theaters or wait to buy or rent? Could you come back to the website and comment after seeing the movie?

I’ll prove to you why Jason Statham is a top 5 action movie star in this article. There are only a handful of action movie stars in the first place. You see it is challenging to make a living in Hollywood as an actor, let alone a movie star. Becoming an action movie star is more difficult than mountain climbing.
Like a mint condition coin, an action actor must stay in tip-top shape. Plus, you must be a good actor to keep your job. You can’t let your skills decline. To keep your shine, you must stay polished.

To be the best, you must strive for greatness. Just Being good isn’t enough. At 51, Jason Statham’s career speaks for itself.
He is internationally recognized as a top 5 action movie star. Plus, the star who was born in Great Britain, is one of the best actors of his generation. The celebrity is popular with approximately 53 million Facebook fans and counting.
What Jason Statham Means to Fast and Furious
Jason Statham joining the Fast and Furious franchise was a brilliant move, because few people can compete with this action movie star. He is on another level. It doesn’t make sense for Tom Cruise and Matt Damon to join Fast and Furious because they have their own franchises: Mission Impossible and the Bourne Identity, respectively. Clearly, Jason Statham has shown why he is in a class all by himself through his “actions.”
Moreover, Jason Statham means the world to Fast and Furious. The franchise can’t survive without his character. He is thriving in his new role. I expect Hobbs and Shaw to be a major success because of his tremendous talent level. Plus, the action actor gels with Dwayne“The Rock” Johnson.

Aren’t you excited about Idris Elba’s part in the movie too? Also, Vanessa Kirby will appear in the film. Kudos to the casting director. I’m looking forward to seeing Hobbs and Shaw. It is a must-see movie without a doubt.
More than Expendable
The Expendables star deserves his accolades as an action hero. He is wealthy with an estimated net worth of $70 million. Did you know Statham performs some of his stunts? If you had $70 million, would you stunt?
Do you remember when Sylvester Stallone added Arnold Schwarzenegger to the cast? Jason Statham was with him from the start. You can’t deny the star’s brilliance as an action actor, but he’s more than expendable.

After seeing the trailer for XXX: Return of Xander Cage I’m excited for the new year of movies. Vin Diesel has definitely took his precious time creating art and preparing for this role. I fully expect him to deliver a jaw dropping performance as Xander Cage. Aren’t you going to appreciate every minute?

Vin Diesel does an excellent job reprising roles. For instance, the Fast and Furious franchise is built around Vin Diesel’s Dom character. You see the actor has an impressive filmography beyond the action genre. Now, I’m not saying he’s Morgan Freeman but he is the quintessential actor.

His performance in Babylon A D was one for the ages (no pun intended). Have you seen the Last Witch Hunter? The movie is unlike anything else Vin Diesel has done. And who can forget about Furious 7? When it was all said and done, Furious 7 grossed over $1.5 billion at the box office.

His signature style and iconic look play a distinct part in his appeal. On the one hand, there’s something calm and soothing about the Hollywood star. On the other hand, there’s something exhilarating and breathtaking about him. Plus, Vin Diesel executes assignments and takes on an amazing approach.

Did you know he is the most liked actor on Facebook? That’s right. Vin Diesel has amassed over 100 million fans.

Clearly, he has a genuine personality off camera or the fans wouldn’t love him so much. Vin Diesel is a likable guy. Can you picture playing on his basketball or volleyball team? The 6’0” celebrity appears to have a perfect body for sports. Let’s go golfing with the celebrity.

Who wants to play a game of Texas Hold ‘Em with Vin Diesel? You won’t be able to read his face, no matter how hard you try. Chances are high that you’ll lose every hand. Vin Diesel has proven he is the ultimate actor.

Jason Bourne Movie Review

Matt Damon does it again. This time around as Jason Bourne, he is the best ever. Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander play an excellent supporting cast. Everything about this movie is excellent. That’s why I give it an A, 5 stars out of 5.

I feel Jason Bourne is redemption in more ways than one. First, Matt Damon redeems the movie franchise. Second, Jason Bourne redeems David Webb.

Throughout the movie, the main character is searching for answers. In a sense, he finds an answer within himself. At times he encounters challenging questions.

What role did his father play in the program? Where does he go from here? Who can he trust? All these questions and more are answered by Jason Bourne himself.

The cinematographers delivered incredible images. Plus, Jason Bourne tells an interesting story. Give credit to spectacular writing and directing. I thoroughly enjoyed the fight scenes. There’s a reason why Matt Damon is considered the best action movie star alongside Tom Cruise.

If you’re fascinated with technology, the CIA, or politics, then watch Jason Bourne at your earliest convenience. It’s the best movie I’ve seen all year. It’s complete with a whole lot of finesse and power. There isn’t any extra stuff cluttering the feed.

No one could have worked the CIA Director’s part better than Tommy Lee Jones, except Morgan Freeman. Moreover, Alicia Vikander is almost perfect. Her accent only throws you off a tiny bit.

Lastly, Jason Bourne ends terrifically. I won’t spoil it for you. All I’ll say is you can never count Bourne out. He’ll get to the bottom of it one way or another.

Get off the fence about seeing Jason Bourne, and get your butt in a seat. Don’t miss out on premium entertainment. Once again, Matt Damon does it, only this time better.

Wesley Snipes: Back in Action

Wesley Snipes is back in action. Right now, you can watch Wesley in the new hit TV show The Player. The Hollywood king has made a triumph return to filming. 

Every actor respects him because he’s the best. He is charismatic and dynamic. Who remembers Money Train, Liberty Stands Still, and Murder at 1600?
If studio executives want an amazing talent, they know where to find Wesley. Snipes usually plays good guys, but’s he’s also proven he can act “bad.” For instance, in Sugar Hill, Snipes stars as a narcotics kingpin.
Plus, he entertains everybody by showcasing his martial arts techniques. Sylvester Stallone is extremely lucky Snipes signed up for Expendables 3. But Blade is his calling card.
In addition, the actor is a convincing athlete. The Fan and White Men Can’t Jump are prime examples. Who can compete with Wesley’s unique filmography?

Mother and daughter appreciate his fine art. After watching at least 20 Wesley Snipes movies, I’ve never seen a flop. Wesley flips, but he doesn’t flop.
It’s a shame Mo Better’ Blues is the only movie he filmed with Denzel Washington. Hollywood needs to get its act together (pun intended). Wouldn’t you rather see a supreme actor instead of another superhero blockbuster?

Moviegoers are owed movie stars. Although I like watching Wesley Snipes every week in The Player, I’d prefer seeing him in more movies.
Actors are the gel that lubricates a movie’s wheel. You can’t reinvent the wheel. Also, if ain’t broke don’t fix it.
I’m in favor of top actors taking pay cuts only if CEOs take them too. This greedy business of finding cheap talent and giving corporate bonuses needs to stop. It is severely affecting the quality and experience of the show.

In a nutshell, we should anticipate the next Wesley Snipes and not the new Spider-Man.

Furious 7 Movie Review

Yesterday was surreal at the theater. Paul Walker lives on through the Fast and Furious franchise and cast. Furious 7 is truly one of a kind.
Family is the movie’s major theme. Paul, Vin Diesel, and Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson reinforce this idea. On the flip side, Jason Statham’s character is furious about his brother’s death. So Statham combines his efforts with terrorists wrecking havoc on the streets.
It is an exciting experience. The fight scenes are better than Bourne Supremacy. What is more, the audience can connect with the film.

 

There is a first time for everything. I never pictured parachuting cars. Also, can you imagine jumping from building to building out glass windows in a luxury sports car?

Plus, Michelle Rodriguez contributed an important element to the script. These days romance is lost in the wilderness. The question is will Rodriguez’s character recover her memory.

 

Who knew Tyrese Gibson was a comedian? Right from the start, his character keeps cracking jokes. It’s funny seeing him pursue Nathalie Emmanuel because he’s a bona fide player.
Chris “Ludacris” Bridges is another vital component. You see the movie strives to link the past to the present. And Ludacris is the final piece to the puzzle.
If family is a major theme, then so is love. Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster demonstrated the power and bond of marriage. Gratefully, Jordana seizes the moment and delivers gracefully.
I took a class called Human Growth and Development as an Undergraduate. The course teaches how life comes in stages. Furious 7 shows how the cast has grown individually and developed collectively.  

Do you like fun and action-packed movies? If so, I highly recommend you go see Furious 7. It’s so good; you must watch it more than once.

The film concludes with a touching tribute and emotional dedication for Paul Walker. Respect the actors for continuing even after losing a close friend. Let’s remember Paul not just as a great movie star, but also as a phenomenal man and sensational spirit.

Action Heroes And Zeroes: 1’s + 0’s

The best Action Heroes command a load of zeroes on their paychecks. Action is a big box office draw. Many Action Movies are rated PG-13. So, action movies often are nice family friendly films.

You will find many Action Heroes in our list of Top 10 Actors.  Action films require a high budget. It’s rare to see a low budget Action movie.

You know it takes money to make money. Think of Action flicks as an investment. Let’s say you bought Google stock.

Now, imagine buying stock in Bruce Willis like you would Google. You want to look at Bruce Willis as an investment. This is how the entertainment industry works.

I love action. You are hardly ever disappointed. Action Heroes have special stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There is a strong bond between Action Heroes and Zeroes.

I vividly recall watching the original Robocop on several Saturdays. In the 90s, Robocop received massive syndication. Unfortunately, for the movie purist, TIVO was not invented yet.

You were forced to watch the commercials that came attached with the featured presentation. We did not mind the advertisements, because every now and again we needed popcorn and a can of Coke.

Technology still remains a major component of Action Movies. It’s a simple fact that Action makes movie executives billions of dollars. Bruce Willis is the ultimate Action Hero.

Look at the Die Hard franchise. As you will see, Willis has dominated decade after decade in the Action genre. Not very many other Action actors have lasted as long.

Bruce Willis is underrated. Although he earns a wad of zeroes, he is underpaid. As you may already know, Willis commanded a percentage of the Six Sense. He clearly made a calculated move.

Timing is everything in entertainment. Bruce Willis is a timeless actor. If you placed him in films from the fifties and sixties, he ‘d still be popular.

100 years from now, Bruce Willis films will still be popular. Mark my words. I can’t even express how much money Bruce Willis is worth. If you look anything like Willis, you’re welcome in Hollywood.

Another Action movie legend is Sylvester Stallone. I admire his Rambo movies. A lot like Bruce, Sly has owned the box office results. It’s safe to say Mr. Stallone is a senior citizen, but he does not act his age.

He still is pushing steel and pumping iron. And, he keeps on producing high quality productions such as the Expendables. I enjoy the Expendables because it is nostalgic.

Those Expendable actors put in a ton of work at the gym and on the silver screen. That’s why Stallone makes seven to eight zeroes per movie. He is the darn movie executive.

What about Rocky? Everybody loves Rocky. How many box office knockouts has Rocky had?


Next, is Jean-Claude Van Damme? He is an international Action icon. What’s more, he practices what he preaches. Van Damme is a martial artist master.

He’s a man you don’t want to argue with. He can paralyze his foe in one quick hand movement.  Like Stallone, Van Damme does not act his age.

His global appeal is brilliantly marketed in this Volvo commercial. 



It’s easy to tell he is true to his craft. I like his authentic nature.


If I excluded Arnold Schwarzenegger I wouldn’t be able to call myself a journalist. I truly think he is half man and half machine. Prove me wrong.

P.S. He’ll be back!

He has matured into arguably the greatest action hero of all time. Schwarzenegger started his career as a bodybuilder and took off from there. His Terminator franchise is legendary.

If you plan to write a piece on movie history, it’s only right you mention Arnold Schwarzenegger in the discussion.

The Action filmography of Will Smith speaks for itself. He has earned a spot at the top because of his value. He brings value to each movie he is associated with.

Smith’s box office results are not comparable. That’s why he also garners seven to eight zeroes. The only knock on Smith is he should star in more films.

Take a few more risks like After Earth. No risk, no reward. You can’t make a hit all the time.

Here comes the Men in Black! Don’t they defend the galaxy or something?


The Men in Black franchise is a major part of action/science fiction cinema. All
Three films are spectacular. Independence Day was an instant classic. Watch a clip of Will Smith at his best.

Angelina Jolie is an Action Superwoman.  She is a hero for all women. She commands several zeroes because of her brand. She sells her characters better than Procter & Gamble.

As you can see, Jolie is versatile. She proves to the entertainment world that women can star in more than romance and comedy. She is legitimate.

Her box office results in movies like Wanted speak volumes.

Jolie has some of the best sex appeal ever filmed. But, she is more than a sex symbol. Angelina is an amazingly talented actress. She is in the heavyweight division just like Sylvester Stallone.


Remember, when I said you are hardly ever disappointed with Action. Well, sometimes you get robbed. Sometimes, you respectfully ask for your money back.

After all, money doesn’t grow on pine trees. Money grows on trees in Larry Page’s backyard.

Action Zeroes

Action movies staring Rob Schneider should never be made. He is an above average comedian. He is not an Action star.

First of all, looking the part is a prerequisite. Secondly, acting the part is just as critical. Jay Leno is first on the list of Action Zeroes.

I showed you a strong connection of Action heroes and zeroes. Now, let’s go to the other extreme. These Action actors don’t command a lot of zeroes. In fact, they are Action Zeroes.

The following five actors are the five worst Action Stars judged by Xfinity.
