What Are the Best Samuel L. Jackson Movies?

BY: GURU JAY

How do I rank the best Samuel L. Jackson movies? Do we solely look at the numbers? Or do we look at something more intangible such as: the critical acclaim and artistic value? This article analyzes the best Samuel L. Jackson movies from a holistic perspective. While I take numbers in account, I also look at the quality of his film performances.

I begin with Unbreakable. Unbreakable is arguably the second-best Samuel L. Jackson movie for its broad reach and fanfare. The movie generated $248 million at the box office. Samuel L. Jackson plays Elijah Price perfectly. Plus, this character is one of Samuel L. Jackson’s most challenging roles because of the dynamic range.

Released 19 years ago, Jackson will star in a sequel called Glass. Glass is next on my list. I feel this film has the potential to be number 1 at the box office. Jackson works well with Bruce Willis. Also, James McAvoy was phenomenal in Split.

A Time to Kill starring Matthew McConaughey ranks high on my list because the film is thought-provoking. Moreover, the plot falls apart without Samuel L. Jackson. The Hollywood star is integral to the movie’s success.

Next, let’s look at The Negotiator. In this film, Jackson plays a hostage negotiator, who is the best in the business. Ironically, Samuel L. Jackson is an actor, who is the best in show business. I highly recommend watching the Negotiator because the movie showcases Samuel’s versatility.

Kingsman: The Secret Service is fifth on my list.
Samuel L. Jackson is a major reason the movie made $414.4 million at the box office. Watch Kingsman, if you want a thrilling action-packed suspenseful film. It was Samuel L. Jackson’s idea for his character to talk with a lisp. From an artistic standpoint, Kingsman is perhaps his best movie.

The Samaritan makes my list because it is all about Samuel L. Jackson. The movie is told from his vantage point. Therefore, you can see the full range and essence of the great movie star.

Although it was produced 22 years ago in 1997, One Eight Seven is like The Samaritan. It makes my list for the same reasons. You really get all of Samuel L. Jackson. Plus, you can’t deny the importance of his presence and his dynamic acting abilities.

Hollywood is a numbers game. So, it makes sense that The Hateful Eight is next on my list. This film grossed approximately $155 million in theaters. The blockbuster showcases Samuel L. Jackson’s amazing talent. Set in 1877, Jackson’s character is central to the motion picture. There is a reason why this Hollywood star is handpicked for roles in Quentin Tarantino movies.

Rules of Engagement starring Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson features both actors’ best work. The movie is about ethical dilemmas; and it answers critical questions concerning war and peace. Rules of Engagement was a box office success, domestically and globally. The worldwide film is translated in English, Arabic, and Vietnamese.

Changing Lanes is another great movie. It defines high quality. Ben Affleck and Jackson are a dynamic duo. Additionally, I highly recommend watching this film for its compelling script and exceptional acting. I believe the celebrity was at his peak while filming Changing Lanes.

I end with Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction is perhaps the number 1 movie of all time. Critically, it is a top ten movie on the average critic’s best movie list. Thus, Pulp Fiction is the best Samuel L. Jackson movie. Without question, Jackson gives an unforgettable performance.

You’ll notice that Marvel movies are omitted from my list because Samuel L. Jackson isn’t the focal point of those movies. Still, I must give those movies an honorable mention because they are a significant portion of his career. Let me know in the comment section, what you feel are the best Samuel L. Jackson movies. These 11 movies are the best from my holistic perspective.

Charlize Theron Vs. Uma Thurman: Battle of the Blondes

BY: GURU JAY
In a recent story, I wrote about the Astronaut’s Wives Club. Coincidentally, Charlize Theron starred in a movie called the Astronaut’s Wife. There’s one blonde in Astronaut Wives Club, Yvonne Strahovski, and she leads the way.

Charlize Theron plays Will Smith’s estranged wife in Hancock. The South African actress helps define beauty. Her long hair was more than gorgeous.
You like Charlize because she’s flexible. She stretches roles like in a Pilates video.
You can’t say enough about Uma Thurman. She is fantastic in Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. Have you seen Gattaca? The actress is literally perfect in it. It’s one of my favorite movies starring lead actor Ethan Hawke.
I wonder if it is possible to transpose actor’s characters. Can you imagine Theron under Quentin Tarantino’s direction? Better even, what if Charlize worked with John Travolta?

Uma has done all those things. That’s why she has an advantage. But the war is still going on, and there will be many battles to come.
You see Charlize has a net worth of $110 million, compared to Uma’s $45 million. Why is this the case? Well, Theron has an entire industrialized nation behind her.
When you’re the most famous South African celebrity, you call some big shots. Plus, your marriage to Sean Penn dramatically assisted your career accolades. Also, considering Charlize is 39 to Uma’s 45, she has an age advantage.

At 5’ 10” Charlize Theron has the ideal figure of a fashion model. Plus, the green-eyed chick possessed natural blonde hair. However, at almost 40, is it possible she shed her locks because it’s turning gray? Still, the Mad Max: Fury Road actor is sexy as hell.
And so is Uma Thurman. If you met them in person, could you distinguish the two celebs? Or is it impossible to tell the difference like Jennifer Garner and Hilary Swank?
I like Charlize’s body better. But I appreciate Uma’s body of work more. If Tarantino is the top R-rated director, then Thurman is his most prized possession.

In a nutshell, Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman are high quality movie stars. It’s all a matter of preferences. Which blonde do you prefer?

10 Best Bruce Willis Movies

BY: GURU JAY

If you’re an upcoming action actor study Bruce Willis’s onscreen behavior and mannerisms. The world embraces Bruce because he is nonchalant, likeable, and tough. There aren’t many showmen like Bruce Willis left in the biz. What is more, my mother loves Bruce Willis.
I’ve never seen a movie star more reserved and intense at the same time. The father of five daughters identifies with his characters that protect women and children from danger. Bruce Willis aka Bruno understands family dynamics.
Willis mostly portrays protagonists because it’s hard to root against a cool brother. Throughout his career, he has delivered on time. His box office numbers prove he’s a main attraction.
What are the best Bruce Willis movies? I compiled a list of 10 exceptional films. Let’s get started!
Looper
In Looper, Bruce Willis breaks the time continuum, all while speaking fluent French. Who doesn’t desire to do those two things? I believe Bruce Willis was at his best because Bruce gets better with time.
No one doubts his brilliance and ability to take action. I’m convinced he’s made out of stone and sometimes stoned. Have you seen his David Letterman sit-downs?
Die Hard

When I say Bruce Willis, you say Die Hard. The first movie surprisingly shattered records. You see, what Sylvester Stallone is to Rambo, Bruce Willis is to John McClane.
The storyline never grows old. Don’t underestimate Bruce Willis’s star power. Although Mr. Willis is now an older gentleman, he still does his own stunts.
Surrogates

Like Looper, Surrogates is a futuristic film worth watching at least three times. We live in this digital age, where people depend on technology. The movie highlights technical and social issues. It ponders the question of TMI (Too Much Information).
As society detaches itself from reality, Bruce Willis’s character seeks answers out of this disillusionment. Give credit to Director Jonathan Mostow, who really helped highlight Bruce’s strengths. Plus, Ving Rhames and Willis work well together.

Pulp Fiction
In Pulp Fiction, Bruno plays a boxer and Rhames is a kingpin. It’s one of the most violent movies. Still, critics and fans consider it a Quentin Tarrantino masterpiece.
The kingpin tells the boxer to take a dive. But, the defiant athlete actually knocks out his opponent. Somehow, the boxer lives to see another day because he winds up saving the American gangster from sexual violation.
Live Free or Die Hard
Live Free or Die Hard is one of the best Bruce Willis movies. It is my favorite installment of the Die Hard series. You see Willis won’t let you down, when the stakes are high.
This movie was made with computer geeks and engineering nerds in mind. The film explores unethical hacking and cyberspace security. The old school movie star educates the new school appointments.
The Sixth Sense
It’s reported that the Sixth Sense earned Bruce Willis over $100 million. Director/ Screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan capitalized on Bruce’s entertainment credibility. Still, we can’t diminish this classic script and legendary impact.
In the Sixth Sense, Bruce Willis plays a child psychologist. He examines Haley Joel Osment’s famous words. “I see dead people” may be the most memorable line in movie history.
Mercury Rising
Mercury Rising raises autism awareness. The movie shows how many autistic people are geniuses. Plus, Bruce Willis shines bright and polished like a diamond in the rough.

The casting director choices of Alex Baldwin and Kim Dickens in key roles, paid sizably. Of course, Willis is spectacular as a special agent. His characters always seem to save the day.
Unbreakable

This is definitely one of the actor’s best movies. In Unbreakable, Samuel L. Jackson’s character convinces the main character he is indestructible. Here is the actor at his finest.
Once more, M. Night Shyamalan teams up with Hollywood’s best actor and destroys competition. It’s safe to say the director and actor are good friends by now. I bet they’ll work together again sometime in the not so distant future.
The Whole Nine Yards
In case you’re wondering, Bruce Willis rarely plays the bad guy. That’s why the Whole Nine Yards is a treasure. Also, it is one of his funniest movies to date.
Armageddon
Armageddon is one of cinema’s greatest productions. Director Michael Bay joins Producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Moreover, the movie has an amazing cast led by Willis.
I don’t read Rotten Tomatoes because they’re wrong for the most part. How can they give Armageddon bad reviews, when fans love it? If you collect $550 million in revenue you’re obviously doing something right.

What are your thoughts?
