How John Legend Mastered His Craft

BY: GURU JAY

John Legend began his career honing music skills as a backup singer. Right now the musician is internationally recognized for his distinguished sound. He falls somewhere between Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder in abilities. In other words, the unique entertainer is extremely gifted and talented.

When I first listened to John Legend’s Ordinary People, I thought the song was from the 80s. I couldn’t believe it was original. John’s music transcends time and resonates with everyone.
His vocal chords stretch to their total capacities. When the musician performs he always gives his best. While John started small, Legend finished big.
Finally the soulful singer is receiving his long overdue respect. Over time, he gradually became a superb entertainer. What is more, as a music artist, John Legend has already mastered his craft.

Practice makes perfect, especially in the arts. Although everybody receives gifts, some people ignore their talents and conform to society’s dictations. Others avoid the safe route altogether and go down a road less travelled like Legends.
The artist was awarded multiple Grammys, a Golden Globe, and an Oscar. Glory, a song co-written with Common for the Selma movie, is highly regarded. You see Legend’s lyrics entertain, inform, and inspire. Can you say the same about contemporaries?
Hollywood’s infamous smog clouds a celebrity’s judgment. Fortunately, John Legend uses his position to vocalize the concerns of many disenfranchised people. Taking bold stances requires guts.
Don’t get me wrong. John Legend is not a political machine, but he speaks up when necessary. His comments might not always appear appropriate. But he doesn’t have an agenda and makes valid points.
The Wake Up Everybody remake video draws parallels of yesterday and today. The question is where are we headed tomorrow. In addition, Legend is famous for bolting out thunderous ballads.
Tonight (Best You Ever Had) and Green Light showcase the singer’s awesome strengths. Although he’s well known for amazing slow songs, Legend can easily increase the tempo. He comfortably controls his perfect pitch.
Who else sings with a strong and deep voice? Give him a keyboard and microphone and watch him go to work. He treats music as none of your business.

He minds his own as a true professional. Tabloids try very hard to catch a celebrity slipping. But I believe John Legend practices preaching sermons. Have you heard Legend sing Gospel music?
Music scientists look to preserve John Legend’s potent voice. Many musicians fail because they try to conquer mainstream. Legend doesn’t compete with Bruno Mars. If anything, he adds value to today’s artistry. What are the best John Legend songs and your favorite videos?

Why Diddy’s Brand Is Ever-Changing

BY: GURU JAY

How many times has Diddy (Puff Daddy, Puffy) changed his brand name? The Hip-Hop impresario reinvents and expands his businesses. Sure you know that he maintains Sean John, a fashion company. But did you also know in October 2013, Diddy founded a digital cable television network named Revolt?
These days some people see Diddy as the Ciroc playboy. In actuality, Puffy’s empire crosses over into a variety of industries. Furthermore, Diddy represents diversity. That’s why Diddy conducts business with all kinds.
More so than Jay-Z, Diddy influences Kanye West and the Hip-Hop world. Master P was unsuccessful as an agent but there’s no doubt he inspired Jay-Z’s formation of Roc Nation Sports. If Jay-Z is the Warren Buffett of Hip-Hop, then Diddy is Bill Gates, and Dr. Dre is Carlos Slim. At the end of the day, they’re all about the Benjamins, baby!

The entertainment business has enough entertainers but not enough businessmen. What should be done to reverse this course? How about stopping young men from only thinking in the temporary mindset? What if they invested in themselves instead of buying Bentleys, Maseratis, and Ferraris?
There’s nothing wrong with splurging and flossing when you’re financially educated. Diddy owns fancy cars, clothes, and gems but he’s also highly invested in lucrative businesses. How many stars own stocks?
Diddy’s brand is ever-changing because the rap icon understands living in a violent world. Harlem’s globetrotter realizes that rough and tough circumstances make you stronger and don’t dictate unfavorable outcomes. While predicting the future is fool’s gold, preparing for the worst is not only best but also wise.

Look beyond Puffy’s personas and you’ll find class and personality. In every instance, Diddy makes mention of his family. Oscar winning music artist Common was right, “Even in this generation living through computers, only love…can reboot us.” What is more, Diddy recognizes the common thread bridging together both prosperity and posterity.

How Kid Cudi Takes You Up a Notch

BY: GURU JAY

I’m convinced that Cleveland, Ohio contains a secret ingredient in their water. Look at LeBron James as a prime example. I don’t blame him for returning to this city anymore.
Carrie Underwood said “there is something in the water.” Of course, Cleveland is strategically located by the Great Lake Erie. Did you know Kid Cudi was born and raised there? Not in the water silly! on land; he’s not Aquaman.
What are your favorite Kid Cudi songs? I suggest Day ‘N’ Nite, Pursuit of Happiness, and Up, Up & Away. In addition, the musician received two Grammys for All of the Lights.

Not enough bloggers pay tribute to Kid Cudi and his heavy impact on music. The average consumer listens to Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole in that order. Let me introduce you to a little variety, because isn’t life all about taking it up a notch?

Kid Cudi brings back the days of Woodstock. I’ve said it before, if I could time travel, I’d go back to 1970 and save Jimi Hendrix. Because I can’t break through the time continuum right now, I’ll see a few Cudi concerts while technology advances.

First off, Kid Cudi is underrated because he goes against the grain like Common, Mos Def, and Nas. He understands that Hip-Hop isn’t Pop. Rappers like Cudi are supposed to be vocal about social issues. Yes, pick and choose your battles, but don’t sellout and act cowardly. That’s what Iggy Azalea hasn’t learned.

Kid Cudi proves that making positive Hip-Hop music is possible. What is more, properly produced motivational songs can in fact be profitable. Cudi demonstrates why more artists should incorporate spiritual and uplifting lyrics instead of superficial and materialistic nonsense.

Aren’t you sick and tired of the rubbish you hear on the radio? Why not try something different? Listen to Kid Cudi on Pandora, iTunes, and YouTube.
