Happy Birthday! Liam Payne

Liam Payne

Once upon a time, there was One Direction (1D) and Directioners. It seems like such a long time ago, but it really has only been 1 year and 8 months since One Direction broke up for good. Were you a Directioner? Remember how big of a deal it was when Zayn Malik went solo. Now, look at the bigger picture. Everybody has gone solo.
Say it isn’t true? It seems Fifth Harmony will break up too if my sources are correct. So much for staying the course. Who thought the group was going to add another member? Maybe, One Direction will reunite someday as will Fifth Harmony.

And so, you know the story of 1D and Liam Payne. The kind and likable Liam Payne established himself in a mean and nasty music industry. Liam Payne and the establishment are one in the same because he is elite.
What ever happened to true Fandom? Why did the Beatles have to breakup? If you are an artist you’ve gotta build your fan base like One Direction. That’s why there are Katycats, Lovatics, and Beliebers because individuals had the foresight to establish themselves. Are you a Swiftie? Well then, check out the Urban Legend of Taylor Swift and Who’s Really Hotter Taylor Swift Vs. Katy Perry?
Lately, Taylor Swift has been dominating the news. Right now, it is time to give a shout out to Liam Payne. Today is literally his birthday. He turns 24 years old. Wish him a happy birthday @IamGuruJay and @LiamPayne.

Who’s waiting for Liam Payne’s next album? Fresh off the One Direction (1D) boat, Liam recently released 2 singles: Strip That Down and Get Low. Strip That Down has went double platinum. I predict it will go triple platinum when it’s all said and done. Who knows he could get a diamond in the future.

Chuck Berry Is Greater Than An Icon

BY: GURU JAY

What is Rock and Roll without Chuck Berry? Chuck Berry is greater than an icon. The legend was born in St. Louis Missouri.
Moreover, his sounds are heard like Cardinals and Blue Jays all around the world. He sings like a Robin and dances like a Cuckoo Bird. Plus he plays the guitar like an Ostrich.
Looking back at his accomplishments it’s easy to get lost for words. How do you honor the most honorable? Some say Chuck Berry became King of Rock and Roll.
What’s your favorite Chuck Berry song? Whether Johnny B. Goode or Maybellene, Berry’s hits are homeruns, triples, and doubles. Berry’s singles are #1s in any era. Plus the celebrity knows how to make people have fun at concerts.

With songs like Ding-a-ling, people admire his sense of humor. When I think about Rock music, I think about Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, the Beatles, and Chuck Berry. At an uneasy time in history, Berry brought black and white together. He was born in 1926. He lived through the riots and uproar.
Moreover, Berry believes in his music. That’s why millions believe in him. I’ve listened to Chuck Berry on Vinyl records. It’s not the same on CD. Something about a record spinning entices the ears as well as the eyes. What beats the Chuck Berry sound?
Right now Rock desperately demands another Chuck Berry. Let’s honor the one and only today. Appreciate all living legends because they deserve acknowledgement while they are still here. Recognize their value and contributions.
In closing, I love math. That’s proof Americans do love math. A sign I used often is (>) greater than. Well in case I ever receive an autograph from Mr. Berry, I want him to sign > after his signature because Chuck Berry is greater than an icon.

The Wonder Years of Joe Cocker

BY: GURU JAY
Growing up The Wonder Years was my favorite TV show. Boy, it had one hell of a theme song, didn’t it? Joe Cocker’s version of With a Little Help From My Friendshelped fuel my addiction to the show. What’s more, that’s how I learned about Joe Cocker.
I had to know who possessed that powerful voice in the beginning. The more I familiarized myself with the legend, the more I started feeling legendary. Joe Cocker= Legend.
He sings You Are So Beautiful, Come Together, and Up Where We Belong in heaven. He didn’t make pop songs; his music was spiritual. What would Woodstock be without Cocker? Joe was a rare find because he was a classic singer.
Most entertainers are made in a bakery. They’re cookie cutter. What you see is what you get. Joe Cocker sang from the bottom of his belly.

It all started when John Robert Cocker, OBE took Vance Arnold as his penname in 1961. Later he formed a band adding “and the Avengers” to his gig. Then there was the Grease Band and the rest is history…
Like the Beatles, Joe Cocker created seismic waves. Throughout Joe Cocker’s career, he received well-deserved recognition. In 2008, Rolling Stone named him 1 of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. Billboard gave him 2 other accolades-  #84 Artist 100 and #14 Social 50 in 2015.
I’m New School by date of birth, but I’m actually Old School by tradition. Bob Seger couldn’t have said it any better than this: “Today’s music ain’t got the same soul, I like that old time rock ‘n’ roll.” Moreover, Joe Cocker rocked to the limit. He lived his life up and that’s what counts. Don’t die bitter by living inhibited; die happy by living uninhibited.

Bee Gees + The Beach Boys = Too Much Heaven and Good Vibrations

BY: GURU JAY

Bee Gees and the Beach Boys songs are timeless pieces. Take for instance these following lyrics:
We’re living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
Ain’t that the truth?! We spot fools everyday.
How about this?
The Midwest farmer’s daughters really make you feel alright
And the Northern girls with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night…
I wish they all could be California girls
What’s better than receiving California love?
Between the Beach Boys and Bee Gees you can’t go wrong. I listen to the bands to calm my nerves. Put on Surfin USA and that will do the trick. After listening to the record all you can think about is beach balls and Pina Coladas.

It’s a fun way to relax. Try playing Stayin Alive when you’re feeling in a bad mood. It works. I feel like the world needs good music.
Nowadays, they don’t make hits like they did in the past. That’s why we gotta do a Throwback Thursday (TBT) on Wednesday. No one sings like Barry Gibb.
Listen to Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s Guilty. “Little by little we meet in the middle. There’s a danger in the dark. You gotta be mine.” There’s no doubt that is a top 10 duet of all time.
Plus the Beach Boys are a top 5 band. Their music is still heard all over the globe. Yes, Elvis was a legend but he was a 1 man show. Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, Al Jardine, and David Marks made their mark on American music history.
Finally, the Beatles weren’t the only great band from the United Kingdom. How about the band of brothers? 3 brothers named Barry, Robin, and Maurice forever changed the sound of music, especially in England.
You combine the 2 bands and you get U.S. and U.K. Ambassadors. Bee Gees + The Beach Boys= Too Much Heaven and Good Vibrations.

How The Beatles Created Seismic Waves

BY: GURU JAY

The Beatles created seismic waves while on their world tours. No other group has wielded as much influence in music as these 4 individuals from Liverpool, England. George Harrison’s guitar and Ringo Starr’s drums could fetch millions of dollars on Amazon. John Lennon’s lyrics actually hypnotize you. And Sir Paul McCartney’s Grammys were designed to serve a purpose.
Fans went wild during the Beatles performances. Laryngitis was a common ailment at concerts since girls literally screamed at the top of their lungs. Plus security was super tight because the Beatles maintained a high profile.
Moreover, the Fab Four’s effect on entertainment is still felt. The rock stars rocked the industry- taking all its marbles. Do you know how extremely difficult it would be to duplicate their success right now?

There are more than just a few chapters dedicated to the Beatles in the book of pop culture. Paul McCartney and John Lennon have a couple chapters written exclusively for them. You see music has always been and will forever be a major component of world history. From Mozart and Beethoven to the Beatles and beyond, organized sounds intrigue us.

Jimi Hendrix loved the Beatles. He covered Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band soon after the album debuted. All the legends recognized the English band’s greatness and fandom.

The band of brothers have sold over 65 million albums. It seems every song they created was a hit. My favorite ones are Hey Jude, All You Need Is Love, Revolution, Let It Be, and Come Together. Astonishingly, we can connect through their music. Tell me your favorites.

The Stage Is Set

It takes a unique person to be a celebrity. Being famous takes a toll on your emotions. Still, some people are destined for fame and fortune. The Beatles were undeniable.
And so, the stage is set. Shout out to Paul, John, George, and Ringo. Or you could scream.

How John Lennon’s Lyrics Hypnotize You

BY: GURU JAY

The best music bypasses the ears and goes directly to the heart. John Lennon loved music and music fans loved him in return. He truly was a passionate and compassionate man.
Whenever I listen to John Lennon’s songs, I enter an arousing state. Sometimes I can’t handle all the sensations coming in at once, because John strikes chords as well as nerves. I wonder if his music hypnotizes you.
The Beatles were the most influential music group of all time in large part because of Lennon’s dominance. Moreover, this band of brothers stopped the world on its axis, and its stage from collapsing. There is no doubt in my mind the legendary Lennon will maintain his influence on society forever.

Long before Instagram but after the Telegram, Lennon carried messages with his music. Ringtones and selfies did not exist then. Otherwise, the amazing music artist would have broken the Internet with his songs and music videos.
In the 1970s, the main ways to get into the clouds were via airplanes, jets, and helicopters. Nowadays, you don’t necessarily have to fly to Amsterdam, Denver, or Seattle to get high. You could launch a rocket.
Logging into your Gmail is another way of getting into the clouds. Things happen so fast now. It only takes me two seconds to send a comment to Mumbai, India.

Can you imagine if the Beatle were alive today? In a sense, he lives on through his legacy. His sons John and Sean, and his wife Yoko Ono honor him.
What are the best John Lennon songs?
Imagine
I believe the visionary musician was ahead of his time. The song Imagine remains relevant because the lyrics were timely and timeless. Lennon experienced the Civil Rights struggles, and so his music reflected those times.
Give Peace a Chance
What are words without deeds? Lennon’s actions matched his ideas. He represented a worthy cause. Why don’t we give peace a chance?
Revolution
Listening to Revolution will inspire you to do great things. John Lennon’s rocky voice registers 1.0 on the Richter’s scale. Check out the Nike Revolution commercial.

Come Together
There are so many great John Lennon songs. His best music was with the Beatles. Although like Revolution Come Together is technically from the band, give John most of the credit.
Instant Karma
What would you pay for an autograph? Instant Karma is a classic Lennon signature song. Without question, this is the best he ever sang.

Why They Designed Grammys For Sir Paul McCartney

BY: GURU JAY

Music is entertainment’s common denominator. That’s why Paul McCartney could have been a math teacher. Picture the legend drawing slopes on your high school’s blackboard.
Fortunately, McCartney became one of the greatest musicians of all time. He’s the most famous Paul since the Apostle. With his large following, the celebrity has mass appeal.
His royal highness elevates the music world. What is more, the music world elevates him. The Beatle benefits from frequent flyer miles.

Even in remote places, Paul McCartney is popular. Furthermore, his contributions extend beyond entertainment. As a humanitarian, he’s championed causes for everyone’s betterment. But the media rarely covers celebrities doing good things. They’re too quick to damage an entertainer’s reputation.
Now at the latter stages of his illustrious career, Paul practices self-actualizing according to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. What else can McCartney accomplish? ‘Yesterday,’ ‘Let It Be,’ and ‘Ebony and Ivory’ are powerful pieces.
Of course I can’t get enough of ‘Hey Jude,’ ‘Revolution,’ ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ and other Beatle songs. I believe the Beatles are the best band ever. The Beatles laid the groundwork for One Direction. Paul McCartney led the coup d’état.

They designed Grammys for Sir Paul McCartney. The celebrated musician still reigns supreme like Miguel’s subconscious. McCartney also mentors Rihanna and Kanye West.
With 6.3 million Facebook likes and 2.2 million Twitter followers, it’s safe to say Paul has loyal fans. Moreover, the celebrity’s cultivated a diverse following of all ages, races and creeds. Any minute now, Paul can use social networks to promote viral content.

Who could have predicted 50 years ago that Paul McCartney would soon reach rock star status? Decca Records couldn’t; and rejected the Beatles. The moral of the story is to pursue your passion. Count on having setbacks. And always have a comeback.
