Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Five Stars

Are you binge-watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Part 1 of Season 4 is now available on Netflix. I highly recommend watching this comedy.

Season 4 is six episodes of fun. Plus, the first 3 seasons are enjoyable too. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a very popular show.

According to Streamline, the sitcom is number 1 on Netflix. Additionally, it is the best comedy TV show by other metrics. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidtcompetes with ABC, FOX, CBS, and NBC sitcoms. Soon, I believe Netflix will release ratings to prove it.

Here is a brief background of the TV show. The show is about a cult survivor named Kimmy Schmidt. Kimmy ultimately ends up living in New York City after the cult is rescued from a bunker. They were living underground for 15 years.

She must cope with trauma and start a new life. Kimmy deals with real world issues such as underemployment and low social status. At first, she can’t even find an apartment there.

Eventually, the now nanny moves in with Titus Andromedon. If you thought Kimmy Schmidt was a character, then Titus is another thing coming. In many ways, Titus is the backbone of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Every episode gives you something different. Ellie Kemper is awesome. She does a fantastic job staying in character and progressing.

Ellie Kemper tickles your funny bone… with a feather of course. She’s extremely likeable and pleasant. I wonder what is next for Kemper. She should star in major movies.

Moreover, there is a natural flow and sequence of events on this sitcom. The writing is terrific. And the characters are unbelievable.

Your sense of humor is taken on a journey. If you like over-the-top jokes and want a thrilling ride, then get on the bandwagon. I can’t promise you Lyft or Uber but you get five stars.

Why You Should Binge-Watch GLOW Right Now

On June 29th, Netflix is scheduled to air season 2 of GLOW. That’s 10 brand “spanking’” new episodes of a funky and wild show binge-watchers love to crave. From the makers of Orange Is the New Black, the show is set in the funky and wild 1980s, a much simpler time I must add.

If you enjoy slams, ‘bams’, and thank you-mams, then check out Netflix’s GLOW. Get your popcorn ready and binge-watch right now! I recently decided to binge-watch GLOW prior to this summer release because I feel preparation is key. The big day is approximately 2 weeks away, and I don’t know what to expect. But I’m prepared for everything, because anything can happen.
What are fans saying about GLOW? They’re just as excited as I am. With over 150,000 Facebook and Twitter followers “us” fans’ eyeballs are glued to our iPhones’ screens waiting on Tweets and Facebook posts from GLOW. We’ve seen trailer 1, trailer 3, and the one in between.
By the way, here’s a tidbit. GLOW is an acronym for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. What more can you want as far as entertainment is concerned?
Woman wrestlers are a major component of the WWE’s appeal. Plus, what would the UFC be without Ronda Rousey’s reign? GLOW takes a fun look and gives a unique perspective on the world.
Although the setting takes place in the 1980s, you can draw parallels of GLOW to nowadays. Like the TV show, you could argue that people desperately want to be rich and famous. It doesn’t make sense, but I think more people want to be famous than rich. What do you think? Tell me in the comments.
I like GLOW for a variety of reasons. Netflix put a lot of time and effort into the series. The characters are likeable. Plus, there’s a nice mixture of talent. At the end of the day, their formula is working and it’s a big success.

Emmys 2017 Recap

Did you watch the Emmys last night? The 2017 Emmys was exciting. All the stars gathered on the red carpet and then on stage.
It was truly a wonderful time. Are you going to watch the post show? In the meantime, read this recap.

Did you check out the fashion and styles? Who was the best dressed in your opinion? Some say Zoe Kravitz was the most fashionable. Apparently, risque is in and safe is out.
To begin with, glitz and glamor obviously filled the concert hall. Along with excitement, there was also a lot of humor in the room. However, Jimmy Fallon was noticeably absent. Still, there was so much comedy to behold.
The Emmys celebrate TV at its best. It is important to acknowledge the contributions of writers, actors, directors, producers and the crew. Making great television is a concerted effort.
The 69thPrimeTime Emmy collected talent like bottle caps. Did you see the opening montage? Stephen Colbert began the night singing and dancing like he was on a Broadway musical.
There were so many highlights of the show. What did you like the best? Maybe, you enjoyed every minute of it. Was this the best award show or what?
My favorite moment was the coming together of TV rivals James Corden and Seth Meyers. I also enjoyed the Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel drinking segment. They were “sore” losers. Again, where was Jimmy Fallon? How amazing would it be to get every last one of them in the same room at the same time?
More emphasis should be placed on the red carpet and after party. The Emmys should be shortened to make way for the red carpet and post show. Anyway, the presenters did a fantastic job.
And the Winners Are…
HBO, ABC, Netflix and Hulu were big winners. John Lithgow received the first award. Veep and Atlanta won multiple times. Sterling K. Brown won for This Is Us. Plus, Elisabeth Moss took home a statute for Handmaid’s Tale. 
Overall, it was Handmaid’s Tale’s night. It is unfortunate that TV’s number one show was ineligible for nomination. In fact, no Game of Thrones‘ cast members were in attendance. Who was your favorite winner? Were your favorite shows nominated?

Are You Binge-Watching The Defenders?

I decided to binge-watch Marvel’s The Defenders on Netflix. The Defenders showcases 4 amazing talents. The series combines Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the Iron Fist into one. Let’s start the discussion. Are you binge-watching the Defenders?

In this blog, I will analyze the first four episodes.I will tell you what I liked and what I didn’t like. By the end, you’ll see why they call me the Original Entertainment Guru.

I throughly enjoyed the first episode. The story begins in Cambodia with sword fighting and a ton of action. A dying man’s last words were “the real war is in New York City.” As the Immortal Iron Fist flys back on his private plane, he experiences turbulence coupled with a nightmare about Cambodia. His girlfriend comforts him as he wakes up.

Then, it cuts to Jessica Jones. She’s busy doing the usual- lifting cars and shit. Plus, Luke Cage gets out of jail. He doesn’t have time for the man to un-cuff him, so he breaks the cuffs in half with all his might. Meanwhile, Daredevil wins a big case for $11 million.

The first 2 episodes reintroduce all 4 characters in dramatic fashion. It was well written and the acting was terrific. Moreover, the director deserves credit for his vision.

I didn’t like the second episode that much. The third episode was the best so far. It had an unforgettable ending. You gotta check it out and see what I mean. I’ve never seen a more powerful ending to an episode. The fourth episode takes place in a Chinese restaurant.

Overall, the series was well worth the wait. There is something for everybody. The show progressively gets better. In many ways, it is almost like a movie. The Defenders is great TV. I highly recommend binge-watching the Netflix Original series. You may want to watch Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil first.

I like what Netflix and Marvel are doing. Bringing 4 shows into one is brilliant, brilliant I tell you. If you are into comics, superheroes and the like, it is is a must-see. You receive premium entertainment value. I stopped my binge-watching at the 5th episode. I look forward to seeing the rest. Stay tuned for part II.

Marlon & Naked Movie Review

Yesterday Marlon Wayans returned to prime time TV. Who remembers the Wayans Brothers? His new sitcom is simply called Marlon. As expected, Marlon is hilarious like the man it is named after. 2 episodes aired back to back on NBC. So, families were rewarded with a full hour of funny. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Marlon goes wild. I’ve never seen a comedian more physical than him. Have you? He reminded me of Martin. I feel Marlon has gotten funnier over the years.
The other characters were great too. I got love for Essence Atkins and her portrayal of Marlon’s ex wife. Plus, Bresha Webb had a nice role.
I want to see Marlonsucceed. There are 8 shows already lined up; and I believe there’s potential for more. If you want to literally laugh your ass off, then watch Marlon Wayans perform on Mondays.
In addition, Marlon Wayans has a new movie on Netflix called Naked. The movie was released on August 11th. I highly recommend seeing the movie. I watched it last night. You’ll enjoy the film because it’s original.
The film is about a substitute teacher (Marlon Wayans) marrying a doctor (Regina Hall). Her father thinks she could do a lot better. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot because I want you to watch it. However, Marlon’s character gets stuck in an elevator naked over and over again. I believe you’ll like it.

Wayans plays the hell out of the character. Overall, Naked was well written. I gave it 5 stars because that’s the highest rating you could give. Brian McKnight makes a noteworthy appearance. Does he get naked too? You got to watch and see.
Marlon Wayans isn’t putting all his eggs into one basket. He is diversifying his talents. Moreover, he has mastered comedy.

The Irony of Binge-Watching Orange Is the New Black Season 5


I hope you had an amazing 4thof July. I hope you saw fireworks, ate barbecue ribs, and didn’t have to work. If you did have to work, I hope you received holiday pay.

I decided early 4th of July to binge-watch Orange Is the New Black (OITNB) season 5. Late at night I find myself binge-watching episodes of OITNB. I fall asleep until Netflix asks me if I want to continue watching. Who else does that?

Do you lose quality when you binge-watch? Or does the director intend on you binge-watching? That’s why Netflix releases 13 episodes at once. Anyway, I’m impressed by season 5 so far.

Orange Is the New Black sucked me in and absorbed my attention like a sponge for three straight episodes. It felt like being in a night class that’s scheduled for four hours. By the third hour, you need a break. And that’s when I dozed off around 4:30 in the morning.

How ironic is it to watch, essentially women behind bars, on the 4th of July. You’re watching people without freedom, on America’s day of celebrating freedom. It’s all too real. Then, I remember they’re just actors. Piper Chapman’s real name is Taylor Schilling. And Laura Prepon is that girl from That’s 70 Show.

The first episode of season 5 rehashed the OITNB’s characters lives before prison. If this is your first episode seeing ever, you won’t be totally lost. I recommend binge-watching season 3. Then 1, 2, and 4. It’s true what they say, the third time’s the charm. Try it and let me know how it turned out for you.

As I was binge-watching the episodes, I thought about how a hacker threatened to release OITNB to the masses if Netflix didn’t pay a ransom. Then I thought about how a similar situation happened to Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean. Finally, I came to the conclusion that it’s ironic they’re hacking intellectual property centered around state property and private property. Just when I began thinking it’s a bad world, I remember it’s funny too.

Have you heard the good news? Fuller House was renewed for a second season. Yes! You see, Netflix wants to please its customers. That’s why the pleasant Candace Cameron Bure is serving you a healthy second helping.

Revenge is a dish best served cold and cereal too… Good morning to my East Coast friends! To my West Coast friends, good night. And greetings to my friends in the United Kingdom, France, Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands. EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK

Right now, The View cohost has a lot to be cheerful about. After all these years, she’s still active. Moreover, she acts her age but doesn’t look it.

You never catch her off-guard. She’s always smiling on cue. The Hollywood actress plays her part well.

The fun blonde knows how to poke. That’s why she has nearly 2.5 million Facebook likes right now. Plus, the actress tweets to another 521,000 followers personally. 

Don’t you want to see her in more movies? Here is a suggestion. Maybe, she could star alongside Hilary Duff. I would pay top dollar to see that happen. I could even make it happen myself.

What more could you want? If you want better entertainment, she gives you that. Those Fuller House episodes demand the best from this celebrity. Frankly, they don’t make famous people like Candace anymore. So, treasure those goods while you can.

What more could she want? She’s achieved more than an above average 40 year old. Like Reese Witherspoon, she’s in the upper echelon of TV and showbiz. Plus her family loves her and she loves them. That’s all that matters at the end of the day, right?

Candace Cameron Bure is one of my favorite celebrities. She gives you entertainment value but she gives you something to talk about. She talks about values. She’s rare.
