2016-2020 Olympics: From Rio to Tokyo

The 2016 Rio Olympics are over. The moments have been captured. The success stories are all written now.

It doesn’t matter which country won the most gold. Regardless of your nation, we are in this whole world together. It really is a small world when you think about it. We might have different politics but we have the same biological characteristics.

The one major takeaway I get from the Olympics is- the idea of unity and harmony. Anything can be accomplished when people are united. Things may change for the betterment of society if we work in harmony like our fellow Olympians.

What was your favorite part of the Olympics? Did you like Michael Phelp’s freestyle stroke and Usain Bolt’s signature dash? Did you watch volleyball or basketball at all?

I saw many volleyball matches but I missed the basketball games, unfortunately. Of course, I still kept track of the events via Twitter though. Gymnastics, swimming, and track & field were big topics on social media- especially Simone Biles, Simone Manuel, Laurie Hernandez, Gabby Douglas, and Ryan Lochte.

What’s more exciting than flips on a balance beam? Isn’t it amazing how these athletes can keep their composures? You already know that they probably have stomachaches because of nerves. Heck, I bite my nails while just anticipating the next move they bust.

I caught a glimpse of the golf. Plus, I watched women’s soccer. I know, you call it football outside the United States.

I would like to write more about sports at GuruJay.com. Please let me know if you would like to read more sports related articles. Here are some past stories Why Ronda Rousey Is A Sport and Movie Star, Top 10 Highest Paid Athletes.

In closing, the 2016 Rio Olympics were enjoyable from start to finish. It was wonderful to see many cultures come together in a positive light. Brazil put on a spectacular show. And now the torch has been passed to Tokyo. Can you wait until 2020?
