Are You Addicted to Power TV?

BY: GURU JAY

My brother first told me about the Power TV show on Starz back in 2014. Now, my sister watches it and everybody in my circle does so too. For what it’s worth, I’ve watched every episode in every season; and, I can attest to the TV show’s exceptional quality.

I think anybody concerned with gaining street knowledge should watch Power because there are morals to their stories. Although Tommy should be idolized, you do realize that he’s going to end up in a body-bag eventually? Also, you might as well conclude that Ghost is dead already since everybody has took a stab at killing him since season 1. There’s clearly a plot to kill.

But James St. Patrick is strong. He won’t die. Remember what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Omari Hardwick’s character is fundamentally fit to be a drug kingpin for years to come. And dying right now is bad for business, specifically the marketing department.

It’s the characters that give life to the story. Who’s your favorite character? Isn’t Omari Hardwick the best actor? And Joseph Sikora is the shit too. But my favorite character is SPOILER ALERT… Lobos (sorry to see you go.)

I like Lobos aka Jefe (translated as Boss in Spanish) the best because he did the least amount of work and reaped the most amount of money. While everybody was doing the dirty work, Lobos kept his hands and feet manicured and pedicured, respectively. They feared and respected him the most.

The writers room on Power come up with incredible ideas. The writers don’t stop developing their story lines. There is always something unexpected in the script. Moreover, the directors and producers take their time positioning key players and putting key pieces in place. I love creator Courtney A. Kemp.

Finally, the music contributes significantly to Power’s greatness. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson created a few good songs for the show. Big Rich Town and I’m the Man are on my playlist right now.

Are you addicted to the TV show? It is a superior product for certain. Everything about Power is excellent.

Scandal ‘No More Blood’ Recap: From Powerless to Powerful

BY: GURU JAY

Finally, the utility company also known as Shondaland restored Olivia Pope’s power. Were you worried that they would neutralize this supposed threat to national security? Once again, Scandal comes to a brilliant closing.
Recap
At a pivotal moment, Pope’s captor asks her a trick question. Does she want to leave with the Russians or Marie Wallace? Olivia seems to make the costly assumption that they give a damn!
Jake gets inside Huck’s mind by identifying their inner struggles with the “beast.” He tells Huck he deals with similar problems. The Gladiators make Huck promise to stop all the killing. Hence the episode title “No More Blood” is their new motto.
In the beginning, White House Chief of Staff Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) daydreams about resigning and giving the president an earful lecture. Instead, he secretly meets with intelligence and attempts to murder Olivia without President Fitzgerald Grant’s approval. Luckily, fate plans another course of action and Cyrus (Jeff Perry) cancels the neutralization in an abrupt and dramatic fashion. In the end, Perry’s character saves the day by carefully observing the predicament and recognizing Stephen Finch.
Finch is Olivia’s old colleague with Russian connections. Fortunately, Olivia would have won either way because the Gladiators were on the other end. Earlier in the episode, Pope spoke Farsi and talked herself out of becoming Iran’s hostage.
Olivia Pope went from the most powerful female TV character to the most powerless. She neutralized herself mentally. Pope was prepared to give her life for the country she loved and the greater good.
President Grant was prepared to sacrifice everything for the woman he loved. Olivia lost respect for Grant because he allowed the Vice President to force him to wage an unjust war against Angola. In the words of Bobby Caldwell, what you won’t do for love!
