Tom Hanks Vs. John Travolta: Who Is The Best Legend?

Whenever you doubt your abilities watch Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump played by Tom Hanks beats the odds despite possessing a low IQ. It goes to show you anything is possible.
If you desire nostalgic moments, rewind to “back in the day” and press play on movies such as Saturday Night Fever, Grease, and Look Who’s Talking. Pilot John Travolta flies high in movies and in real life. He’s on everybody’s radar screen from air traffic controllers to movie producers and goers.

Tom Hanks and John Travolta are legends. I use “legend” sparingly because too many folks misuse the word. Moreover, I rarely refer to a living person as a legend. But I believe Travolta and Hanks have done enough.
Obviously, Tom has more fans because his movies are more family friendly. That doesn’t make John any lesser of a movie star though. You see R rated movies are harder to produce than Disney- Pixar flicks.

Still, both celebrities care deeply about their families. This has been well documented. They didn’t run from their responsibilities.

One criticism is that Tom Hanks stays in his square. Do you think Tom plays it too safe? I believe John takes more risks like Taking Pelham 123.
Although I respect Hanks, he’s Steven Spielberg’s surrogate. You can say the same thing about Leonardo DiCaprio belonging to Martin Scorsese. John Travolta doesn’t belong to a director.
Let’s appreciate all they offer in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Actors gush when filming with Tom and John.
It is difficult to determine who is the best. If we’re only discussing numbers, Tom is better. If we’re factoring intangibles, Travolta wins.

The From Paris with Love actor does all the little things right. He came out his mother’s womb acting. The Big star requires a big production, while Travolta can adjust to budget cuts.
Both have mastered their crafts. Both have debuted world premieres. There is only one Tom Hanks and John Travolta per generation.

Believe it or not, Hilary Swank and Jennifer Garner are not the same person. These Hollywood lookalikes are frequently mistaken for one another. If you’re ever confused, just remember Garner married Ben Affleck. Plus, Jennifer stands 2 inches taller than Hilary.
Through the years, Swank received better roles because she’s prettier. They are both B+ list actresses. However, I’ve heard Garner is easier to work with. But, Hilary plays it cool and makes up for her flaws.
Appearances can trick you. Hollywood is a strange and funny place. How many beautiful people come through town and leave disappointed? Even a perfect audition is no guarantee.
In show business, your best may not be good enough. Still, keep getting better like Jessica Alba. Sooner than later, everyone will recognize you; and, you won’t get ignored.
I like when Swank and Garner play soldiers or spies. Both brunettes give and take excruciating pain. Though, I believe Jennifer is tougher. Wouldn’t you rather see Garner in Million Dollar Baby instead of Swank?

Listen, I’m not trying to take away from Hilary’s accomplishments. We’ve seen this actress put on amazing performances. All I am saying is that Jennifer’s career was stalled, because executives screwed up her story.
For instance, did you know Jennifer Garner was born in Houston? Her family relocated to West Virginia, then Canada. Moreover, Hilary hails from Nebraska, although she spent most of her teenage years in Seattle for High School.

Can you believe the Hollywood lookalikes have an identical net worth of $40 million apiece? Keep in mind Hilary is three years younger. So, she’ll probably be richer in the future.

Can you tell the difference between the actresses? Do you think the celebrities ever pass themselves off as each other? What are your favorite Hilary Swank and Jennifer Garner movies? Who is the better actor?

Jackie Chan Vs. Jet Li + Your Favorite Martial Arts Movies

You must acquire a taste for foreign films like coffee and beer. Turning on subtitles is not the worst thing in the world, nor the most interesting. But, I prefer reading words, because as a writer I live in words. I enjoy seeing scripts come alive.

Bruce Lee passed the torch to Kung Fu masters and movie stars, Jackie Chan and Jet Li. There is a reason why Li and Chan are Expendables. Today, self-defense is integral to the action movie genre.
What is more, Chan and Li are true teachers of their mastery. Learning self-defense improves the body, and sharpens the mind. Like athletes, movie stars must dedicate time to nurture their gifts and talents.
I like Jackie Chan because he can do comedy. I recommend watching all three Rush Hours, because funnyman Chris Tucker is literally Chan’s sidekick.
Jet Li doesn’t speak English nearly as well as Jackie Chan. Plus, the average spectator has watched more Chan films than Li. Is Jet jealous of Jackie?

The media rolls out the red carpet for The Tuxedostar. But, they treat The Fearlessactor like Rodney Dangerfield. He “gets no respect.”
If Jackie Chan is 1st, Jet Li is a close 2nd. Actually, don’t discount Jet, because he has tons of fans globally. Plus, Jet likes his privacy protected.
Seeing Jackie and Jet square off is worth $50.
I believe Jet Li is faster, but Jackie Chan is better. Still, avoid starting a fight with either one of them at all costs. They will finish you.
Isn’t it ironic martial artists are peaceful? Although Karate can be violent, seeking a nonviolent solution is usually preferable. Why don’t you try Tai Chi?
When will a big name Japanese or Korean star emerge on the movie fight scene? Do you believe Jackie Chan is over 60? Also, I learned Jet Li is a singer.

Without question, Taylor Swift, born in 1989, is younger than Katy Perry, but is she really hotter? Is Maxim’s Hot 100 corrupt like FIFA? Do you suspect foul play on the magazine’s side?
I seriously doubt Taylor bribed Maxim for the top slot. If anything, with Swift’s fame, the last thing she wants is more attention. For what it’s worth, Maxim is for men. I’m curious to see Cosmopolitan’s ranking. Last year, Katy Perry was number 3 on the list.

If you didn’t know already, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry share a history. Bluntly, Katy Perry stole boyfriend John Mayer from Taylor. How did she respond?
Taylor Swift shook it off and made the platinum 1989 album. Judging by her inflections on 1989, Taylor’s breakup was far from a open and shut case. Maybe I’m wrong. However, I believe her album is not only about John Mayer, but unsatisfactory relationships in general.
According to sales, Taylor Swift’s music is hotter than Katy Perry’s songs. However, heterosexual men would agree Katy’s body is sexier, and hot as hell.

Do gentlemen prefer blondes or brunettes? Although the Blank Space songstress stands taller than the Firework soloist, Katy is curvier. Maxim wants subs, so displaying Taylor on the cover is genius.

Katy Perry had her day in the sun. And, she isn’t scared to showoff her belly button. In a beauty pageant, Katy wins the swimwear contest.
Honestly, Taylor Swift has a prettier face than Katy Perry. Also, Taylor’s thin frame is a turn-on for many men. At 25, this may be the best-looking Swift we’ll ever see, because of aging.
I’ve liked Katy Perry forever. And, I’m growing fonder of Taylor Swift. As summer comes, I can’t wait to hear their brand new songs, and see their hot, fresh, and steamy music videos.

Not Denying Hollywood Heiress Drew Barrymore and Accepting Ben Affleck as Batman

People like Drew Barrymore because she can be the girl next door or an heiress. Did you know Barrymore is one of Hollywood’s biggest families? Can you imagine going on the Barrymore family retreat?
I like Drew Barrymore because she is inconspicuous. You could talk to her for hours and never know she’s famous. Most real actors aren’t begging for attention. That’s why reality TV stars receive a bad rap.
As we look back and forward at Drew Barrymore’s career, let’s appreciate her valuable and intangible assets. How much is the perfect smile worth? Isn’t happiness priceless?
I’m not denying Drew got a head start. What I am saying is I won’t hold it against her. People can’t control whether they’re born rich, poor, black, or white. You see labels do not define Barrymore and that’s why she is an amazing actress.

Picture Barrymore playing the role of Hillary Clinton in the politician’s biopic. Speaking of powerful women, did you know Drew is a director? She started directing before Angelina Jolie. I would like Drew to dye her follicles jet-black like Angelina’s hairdo.
If Barrymore makes the right decisions, she could become a legendary filmmaker. The beautiful Hollywood heiress can use her connections to further advance her career. However, in Barrymore’s defense, she’d rather gather recognition according to her merits.
The Sony Hack uncovered system wide institutional corruption in the entertainment industry. Hopefully, Sony, Disney, New Corp and other corporations will create positive and lasting changes. Drew Barrymore keeps her name clean and she doesn’t complicate being a celebrity.
Many celebrities crave attention. There is nothing wrong with desiring love. But the problem is excess.

Finally, I’ve accepted Ben Affleck as Batman. Yes, I said Matt Damon would make a better Bruce Wayne. However, his good friend Ben is phenomenal.
Ben looks like Batman and appearances mean the world. Let’s do Affleck a favor and don’t compare him to Christian Bale. It’s not apples and oranges.  
It’s kiwis and coconuts. Plus, Ben Affleck has momentum on his side. It is always a good sign when the media is talking about you.
Like Barrymore, Affleck is a great director and excellent actor. I understand that the movie business is tough work. So, I won’t deny Drew Barrymore her inheritance. And at the same time, I will accept the fact Ben Affleck is Batman.

How Jamie Foxx Became Extraordinary

Ordinary people settle for mediocrity. Extraordinary individuals believe in their abilities and never get complacent. Jamie Foxx became extraordinary by making his dreams come true.
Do you watch the Jamie Foxx show? That sitcom serves as perfect example of Foxx’s trajectory. From the beginning, determined and ambitious Jamie King chased Francesca (Fancy) all around the hotel. In the finale, Jamie marries Fancy and all is well.
At my elementary school, classmates and I would practice Jamie Foxx’s tagline during recess. The genius of Jamie’s comedy is that it’s capable of reaching everybody. Have you seen the Annie remake starring the multitalented celebrity?

Anyone who can perform standup comedy, act in a variety of roles, and sing Hip-Hop with perfection is special. Furthermore, the complete entertainer hosts a radio program called the Foxx Hole.
Plus, the actor/singer/comedian tickles the ebonies and ivories similar to Alicia Keys. You see Jamie enjoys making money and the celebrity’s creativity is off the charts. People give their undivided attention to Foxx because he has established himself as a one-stop entertainment shop.

If you still don’t believe Jamie Foxx isn’t extraordinary tell that to the Grammys, Golden Globes, and Oscars committees because they all awarded him the highest honors. Do you think Jamie is a better actor, comedian, or singer? I considered him best at acting, then singing, and lastly comedy.
The fact of the matter is Jamie can do it all exceptionally well. Like Jim Carrey and Jennifer Lopez, Kennan Ivory Wayans and In Living Color opened opportunities for Foxx. Plus, Def Comedy Jam gained the comedian more exposure. Watching Jamie perform is like seeing LeBron James play basketball.

Who is the Best Action Movie Star? Matt Damon Vs. Tom Cruise

The Mission: Impossible and Bourne franchises are the best action movie series to date. Tom Cruise and Matt Damon bring their badass characters to life with their intensity. They kick butt like Cristiano Ronaldo strikes Soccer balls.  
Whether you want some action or not, they will give it to your ass. Over the past 15 years, they’ve built a good reputation. Today, they’re known as the shiniest Hollywood movie stars. 
The Bourne Supremacy ranks in my top 10 favorite action films. I will always remember this Supremacy scene. 


What is brilliant about this sequence is that they’re using their fists instead of guns.
How does Matt Damon make you believe he is Jason Bourne? Like a Mark Wahlberg movie, Damon transforms before our very eyes. Clearly the highly trained actor understands how to captivate his audience.  
In 2002, Matt Damon suffered his first identity crisis as Jason Bourne. His character had more passports and code-names than the President. What is more, Bourne Identity made a great first impression on moviegoers.

The third installment, Bourne Ultimatum, exceeded expectations at the box office by grossing over $440 million worldwide. Ultimatum is by far the trilogy’s highest grossing film. After its completion, Matt Damon entered Hollywood’s elite hall of entertainers.
Moreover, Mission: Impossible 3 showcases nothing but the best. Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s performance is legendary.


You can see how Tom Cruise and Hoffman feed off each other’s energy.
Because of their similarities, I suspect Tom Cruise influenced Matt Damon’s career. The Top Gun sends competition into Oblivion. However, unlike Damon Tom hasn’t won an Academy Award. The judges are out of touch. If the Academy is worth its weight in salt, Tom Cruise will eventually receive an Oscar.
I personally think Tom Cruise is one of the greatest action movie actors of all time. Additionally, I believe the Bourne franchise with Matt Damon sets the tone for the next generation of stars. In a nutshell, Matt Damon is a top action figure but Tom Cruise is best.
