Robin Thicke Vs. Adam Levine

I’ve followed Robin Thicke since the Jurassic period. He started his career off with a big bang. Although ‘A Beautiful World’ didn’t go platinum, true fans appreciate real artistry. 

Fortunately, The Evolution of Robin Thicke did go platinum. Before the best selling Blurred Lines, Robin experienced a rise and dawn like Caesar from the Planet of the Apes. Lost Without U is clearly one of Thicke’s best songs.
The musician has a long history of hits. If Sex Therapy: The Session is a double than the Blurred Lines album is a walk-off homerun. How can you beat 350 million plus YouTube views? Thicke shows why he’s a terrific singer.
There’s a reason Adam Levine is a judge on The Voice. The Maroon 5 bandleader is crafty like a magician. He has a lengthy vocal range.

I like listening to Moves Like Jagger when playing chess. Also, Adam Levine’s guitar skills are underrated. And his creativity is often mindboggling.
I respect Adam Levine for not abandoning his band for greener pastures. Nowadays, loyalty and trust are rare assets. Adam Levine is a good friend who values brotherhood.
Adam defines greatness with his dynamic abilities. With that said, I’d rather perform onstage with Levine. However, I’d choose to record with Robin Thicke.
Both music artists have similar styles and talents. The main difference is Robin’s a solo act. I’m not knocking Thicke for going at it alone.

I just feel the more the merrier.

As a side note, Robin toured with Maroon 5 in 2013. So, this comparison is not far-fetched. If I had to choose, I’d go with Robin over Adam.

Levine still lives in Maroon 5’s shadow.

There are millions of musicians but there is only one Bruno Mars. The planetary entertainer launched his music career in 2006. Since then, he’s been orbiting around Europa.

Bruno Mars pens ballads like Stephen Hawking composes manuscripts about space-time continuums. Science can’t comprehend nor explain supernatural occurrences. Bruno’s more than a musical genius. Mars is a myth within the entertainment world.
When I’m listening to music, I listen for originality. Hooligans immediately recognize the musician’s songs. Bruno Mars sincerely has a passion for music and entertainment. Not many musicians perform on Bruno’s level.
The naturally talented showman demonstrates why he is unstoppable. I consider him the best of his generation because of his incredible vocal range. The passionate crooner’s performances look effortless.


The Role Model

Despite what some believe, celebrities are role models because the media worships entertainment. They’re obsessed over Hollywood hook-ups, marriages and baby bumps. Bruno Mars distances himself from buffoonery. Despite the hooligan name, Mars doesn’t cause trouble, Bruno just raises hell.
In a superficial universe, Bruno Mars is a guardian of the galaxy. The best thing about Bruno Mars is his timeless music and untarnished image. Fast forward a hundred years, and you’ll hear the superstar’s music blasted from Australia to Russia.
Moreover, the celebrity accepts his responsibilities. Bruno doesn’t avoid the Paparazzi or dodge the Thirty Mile Zone. Judging by: his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, Mars values each of his fans.


Karaoke was invented for ballads like Bruno’s Grenade, Just the Way You Are, Locked Out of Heaven and Uptown Funk.

Carrie Underwood won American Idol in 2005. Now, the Country music singer is arguably the best female vocalist in the world. She excels as songwriter and occasional actress as well.

Over the years, Carrie has created a sweet girl image. You never see her flaunting or engaging in debauchery. Can you remember the last time you heard a peep out of her? Carrie’s the girl I’d take home to meet mom.


The former American Idol is an American sweetheart. She’s also an All-American. If you need cheering up, listen to Carrie. She is like a Cowboys’ cheerleader. 

Let’s do some math. Carrie collects fans like bottle caps. She has over 4 million Twitter followers. What is more, Underwood has more than 11 million Facebook likes. Finally, The Jesus Take the Wheelsuperstar has over 310 million YouTube views.
Carrie deserves more credit for her acting. She reminds me of a younger Reese Witherspoon. You should watch Sound of Music Live. It is a wonderful story. And, she dazzles in it.
Truth be told, Carrie is one of my top 10 favorite Country music stars. Her performances cannot be duplicated. She’s an original.
Also, she does great duets. Carrie brings listeners to ecstasy. When she sings, it’s like reading the Great Gatsby for the first time.
Carrie Underwood put Country music on the map! Today, the genre is more popular because of musicians such as Carrie. Will Dolly Parton pass the torch to Underwood?

When Miley sings, she takes us home. Entertainment runs in her family. The triple-threat Miley Cyrus can act, sing, and dance.
If Janet Jackson reigns as Queen of the Rhythm Nation, then Miley is a princess. And, she’s got rhythm too.
Why is she so popular? It’s because she makes the news. She stays relevant, which is key. So, people keep talking about the celebrity.
We all know what’s up with Miley. Am I right? That’s why we go to her concerts in droves. The singer gives 100 percent every night.
Does she ever cheat you out of a worthy performance? Why would Live Nation offer her $500,000 per concert if she weren’t worth it? If you ask me, she should make $1 million.
Plus, she cuts records in the studio like Bill Gates cuts checks. Remember where you heard it first…Miley Cyrus is a future billionaire.
For Pete’s sake, Snoop Dogg raps hers praises.
Do you know how hard it is to get endorsed by Snoop Dogg? Let’s revisit the Iggy Azalea case.
Greatness is in store for Miley Cyrus. On November 23, she turns 22. Look at how much Miley has already accomplished.

Here’s my advice to the hot Hollywood starlet… Take a break from performing on stage. The fans will love you more for it. Just don’t stay out the limelight too long. You don’t want to get rusty.
Act again. Concentrate on making movies. Justin Timberlake took a break from singing. Now, look at the superstar. Trust me Miley, your star power will soar to untold heights.
Also, don’t let people take you for granted. Allow them to recognize why they should treasure your gifts. At some point it’s very important to put things in their proper perspectives.
The spotlight has been shining on Miley ever since her teenage years. So, it’s vital for her to get her mind right. Crazy child stars are a dime a dozen.
Fortunately, it seems Miley’s got her head on straight. By all accounts, her family supports her. Do you remember when she was in the hospital? Her family came to her rescue.
Party in the USA put Miley on the map. Of course, Hannah Montana helped her a little too. Did you forget about Wrecking Ball?
The singer makes bold statements with her music videos. Do I agree with all of her artistic choices? No, but I believe in taking calculated risks.

Miley is on my VIP list. How many singers can say they’re on Miley’s level? If she takes a sabbatical, she will make more money. Her demand is too high.
This is Economics 201. By making her services scarce, the celebrity’s value increases. With a net worth of $150 million, Cyrus doesn’t have a care.
The wealthiest 21 year old celebrity to date, not only ranks #17 on Forbes, she is also the 2nd youngest. #33 Justin Bieber is younger.
Tweak the formula. In Miley Cyrus’s case twerk the formula. Don’t let fear trap you.
I like Miley because she is brave. Like a balloon she’s filled with helium, NOT with doubt. There have been several reports she gets high.
Parents just don’t understand Miley. Like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Hannah Montanais a TV show. However, Cyrus is a separate entity.
The superstar sends tweets from the planet Pluto and defies gravity. Do you tweet? Are you a Miley Cyrus Facebook fan?

Starting February 25, 2015 Ariana Grande will perform on The Honeymoon Tour. This coincides with her My Everything album. I predict that the tour will exceed expectations.
She’s exciting but is she too commercial? I don’t know if she’s found herself yet. I do know she’s on the verge of superstar status.
There’s nothing wrong with mainstream. The best music has global reach. How can you penalize a popular celebrity? It doesn’t make sense. So go ahead and get more followers.

First of all, the tabloids will stick a camera in your face while you’re eating dinner. Contrary to popular belief, celebrities love signing autographs. However, some Paparazzi will go to the extreme.
I understand Ariana’s aloofness. It’s perfectly fine to distance yourself from lunatics. So, give Ariana a break in that respect.
Sometimes, she’s unfairly criticized. Listen to her song You Don’t Know Me. Basically, she’s sending a message to her critics.
Eventually, the singer will open up to the media. But first, she has to learn to control her emotions. Shake it off like Taylor Swift baby.
In contrast to Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande should record more music. Her sound is meant for the studio. How many musicians want to make music with her?
Ariana Grande is still building her name. She can learn from Miley Cyrus, who has already established her brand. In a couple of years, Ariana will get the same credit as Miley.
With grit and determination, Ariana Grande rose to the top of the charts. The singer started from the bottom and now she’s here. Change your last name to Superstar.

I listen to music everyday. My music taste is very flavorful. Music means everything to me.

Do you like a nice variety of songs? Or do you only listen to Country or Heavy Metal exclusively? Leave a comment.

Besides being universal, music is also lucrative. This article will shed some light on the state of music. You’ll clearly see how popularity is not profitability.

Country Music artists get paid a premium. Do you know why? It’s because Country has less competition.

So it isn’t surprising that the highest paid musicians belong to the Country genre. Think about it. Although Pop appeals to the masses, Country follows the money.

Taylor Swift wasn’t a high school cheerleader but she is cheerful. She sings with a perfect pitch and a clear tone. But does she deserve the most dollars?

My initial thought was that Katy Perry was #1. To my surprise, she didn’t even make the list. Neither did Lady Gaga. Back to my point, popularity is not profitability.

If you want to cash in on your fame, don’t follow the accolades. Follow the money. Look at John Mayer.

John Mayer is not as famous as Drake or Nicki Minaj. But, John Boy makes $10 million per year.  Where do Drake and Nicki rank on the money list? They don’t.

The moral of the story is that numbers can be misleading. The only real numbers that matter are the ones after a ($) dollar sign.

Kenny Chesney has 2 million Twitter followers. Jennifer Lopez (JLo) has 29 million followers. Guess what? Chesney is the second highest paid music artist. What does that tell you?

I don’t sugarcoat. And, I don’t pander celebrities. I’m not a lawyer. I am an accountant.

Dollars don’t lie. Kenny Chesney makes $33 million per year. JLo earns less than $9 million as a musician.

I wrote an article comparing Justin Timberlake and JLo. I found out that my followers love Justin to death. Well, wouldn’t you know JT earns $31 million annually?

Timberlake is third on the highest paid musician list. Beyoncé follows him at #4.


Longevity pays dividends. #20 Elton John and #19 Jimmy Buffett show you why. They are from the ‘show me’ state.

You must think in terms of the long run. Sticking around is good. Don’t make the mistake of retiring too soon.

Celine Dion is still relevant at #15. Her greatest hit ‘My Heart Will Go On’ is top 10 all time. Beautiful music is internationally recognized. There is no need for translation.

You have to love making music. The highest paid artists are the most productive. I identify with Justin Timberlake because he seems to understand the way the entertainment world works.

Most musicians have a lopsided view of the industry. Show business is cutthroat because so many artists are sticking their necks out for an unclean shave. You should look in the mirror to shave, or just grow a full beard.


The former Destiny’s Child lead singer is irreplaceable as a solo music artist. She makes over $24 million. Beyoncé is on demand.

There’s been so much speculation about her marriage to Jay Z. Will they divorce? I think it’s imminent.

The majority of divorces end due to financial reasons. Jay Z is the 11th highest paid solo artist. There’s likely some jealously considering the competitive nature of both Rap and Hip-Hop.

His protégé Rihanna is the 13thhighest paid singer. The Barbados babe is prolific but she is not very productive.

Even though she is my third favorite pop star. I feel she has room for improvement. Rihanna Vevo is the #1 YouTube channel. And yet, she isn’t a top 10 earner.

If Rihanna is smart she’ll realize that singing less can make her more money. Of all the artists, Rihanna has the most potential. Plus she is already a superstar!

Pink is the 6th highest earning solo music artist. Why is Pink so high on the list? It’s because she is unique.

It’s not a big secret that eccentric stars earn the big bucks. Elton John has played this game for years. Just like there’s only one Elton, there is only one Pink.

Michael Bublé  is successful because he has a monopoly on Christmas music. He saw an opportunity and went in headfirst. Now his name is synonymous with XMAS carols.

The key to the entertainment business is to find your niche. It’s that simple. If you’re the best, you don’t have to worry. Just wait for the paycheck to arrive.

Paul McCartney is #14; and, Kenny Chesney is second.  Both gentlemen are living legends. Paul is to Rock and Roll what Kenny is to Country Music.

If you really want to hear true genius, you might have to play an old record. The best music periods are the ‘60s and ‘70s. The ‘80s were also a great time in music.

State of Music

The state of music is fragile. On the one hand, the singing is top notch. On the other hand, the lyrics are crappy.

Today’s music lacks a message. In the words of Paul McCartney, I believe in Yesterday. The corporatization of music is in full effect.

I support Vevo because it delivers excellent content. But, Vevo is a prime example of corporate culture. And so, there’s a tradeoff.

I blame the singers/songwriters. It’s the new normal for many musicians to write their own songs. In the past, this was very rare.

Nothing will change until the songwriters take back their craft. It’s cheaper to have singers write their own songs. And, that’s why the songs sound cheap. It’s easy to reverse this course.

I’m not saying don’t let singers write. All I am saying is to let the songwriters do their jobs. The best songwriters can’t sing a lick.

As you can see, technology has drastically changed the way music is heard. Despite the initial concerns, music artists are living the good life. You can make a fortune if you are gifted and talented.

You can really do well with Country. Two words: Taylor Swift!

Who do you like the best Jennifer Lopez or Justin Timberlake?

Before Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez entertained millions. What is more, she still wows the crowd with her versatile skills. She sings, acts, dances, produces, and judges to perfection.

JLO is simultaneously confident and humble. Did you know she began as a dancer? Yes, indeed… and, that’s why the Latina deserves our respect.

Newbies should pay close attention to her career. She turned nothing into something. And, Lopez made a lot from a little.

As a result of her success, she is internationally recognized and universally accepted. No one denies her talent. It is truly amazing to watch her in action.


Jennifer is the first to say she got it from her mama. JLO is a sweetheart. Her image is intact.

She is a fine actress and dancer.  She’s also a superb singer. You can’t say one bad thing about her.

You appreciate the fact she stays grounded. Jennifer is not vying for attention. She’s not desperate at all.

So, why can’t we get enough of her? The answer: because she is gifted. Here lies the “Kim Kardashian problem.”

You may argue Kardashian is better looking than Lopez. I give you that because Kim is younger and more self-absorbed. The two beauties are both very pleasing to the senses.

But, JLO has talent. So, JLO is way more entertaining than Kim. That’s a fact.


The Puerto Rican American Idol can do everything at a high level. There is a difference. She’s terrific in all areas.

She is one of the most talented female entertainers in show business. I believe Beyoncé is entertainer of the year though. Although I love Beyoncé, her acting is not as great as JLO. Singing is a different story. Beyoncé’s pipes are flawless.

Now, you must understand Jennifer Lopez paid her dues. She received her big break while starring in the biopic Selena. I’ve seen this movie 100 times and not by choice.

If you ever take a Spanish class, you will have to watch Selena. I didn’t mind seeing it 99 times because JLO is just awesome. But 100 times, is 1 too many.

Who remembers the Wedding Planner? Did you see the Cell, Maid in Manhattan and Monster-in-Law? Did you know Jennifer Lopez is the richest Hollywood actress?

Currently, she is the highest paid TV judge. Why does she command $17.5 million? Part of the answer: because she is lucky.

As you can see, Justin Timberlake along with Britney Spears started on the Disney channel.  Timberlake has been in the entertainment business at least 20 years. Remember, you are rewarded for longevity.

As you put more skin in the game, your name gets bigger. This is the key to fame. Ask Lady Gaga.

If you do anything long and good enough, you become an expert. It’s safe to say Justin is a premier entertainer. Like JLO, Justin has a variety of professional skills.

He sings, dances and produces. By the way, Timberlake is a great actor. One day I can see him winning an Oscar. He came close with the In Time movie. Nobody is more dedicated than Timberlake. He puts on his suit and tie and goes to work despite not having a typical 9 to 5 job.



Do you remember when Justin took a hiatus from singing to focus solely on acting? He gave up easy money for the sake of his profession. Talk about commitment!

His wife Jennifer Beal is in Seventh Heaven, because Justin Timberlake commits 110 percent. He hosted Saturday Night Live five times. He played in the Facebook movie. And, Justin deserves credit for his business savvy.

To the contrary, Timberlake is a better singer than actor unlike Jennifer who is a great actress. Here’s a thought: how about making a movie or music video featuring JLO and Justin. I would like to see that. Would you?

If you’re a young man, use Justin Timberlake as a role model. He takes care of business then pleasure. It should always be a pleasure doing business.

I live by the motto: be cool and have fun. Nobody has more fun than JTimberlake. He acts, sings and looks cool. The girls think he’s hot.

You know Justin was a Disney Kid. Did you also know he was in the boy band N’Sync? Here’s video proof.


Justin Timberlake is on top of the world right now. His acting career is just beginning. He’s successful because he’s rare. 

When you get famous, don’t forget to develop your talents in other areas. Not only will you make more money, you will garner more respect. Seize your opportunities like JLO and Timberlake.

Someday soon Justin will reach the point where he doesn’t have to audition. Screenwriters will write roles specifically with Timberlake in mind. Jennifer Lopez is already there and so is Jamie Foxx.

Jamie Foxx is underrated. The actor/musician/comedian wears many hats.  If you ask me, he’s probably the most gifted man in the entertainment industry. The movie Ray starring Foxx is an absolute must-see.

However, Justin Timberlake is too big to ignore. He’s the definition of mainstream. He has global appeal and world wide reach. You won’t build a brand bigger than Timberlake.

Newbies take note. He is not arrogant. He is confident and humble like Jennifer Lopez. My advice is to build your confidence and practice humility. This is all about reputation.

I was one of the first to watch her video with Rihanna on YouTube. Does this remind you of Beautiful Liar? We can’t get enough of Shakira, plain and simple.

The reality is Britney breaks records in the record business. Womanizers and women buy her goods up like beachfront property. Why? Because she’s hot, that’s why.

If you love music, then you like Bruno Mars. His fans are amazing. I admire his work ethic.

His best years are still to come. In a decade, he may legitimately take the number 1 spot. He’s not the King; he’s more like the Duke of Pop.

Justin Timberlake manages to mesmerize the ladies. It’s almost like the Suit and Tiemusician is a magician on the stage. The singer /actor/businessman pulls out bunny rabbits from his many hats.

Make no mistake. Do you think his marriage to Jessica Biel makes him more desirable? Whatever the case, Timberlake is the future face of entertainment.

I play a lot baseball. And, I listen to a lot of music. If baseball is America’s pastime, then Katy Perry is America’s sweetheart.

Katy is definitely a diva. I may go as far to say she is the Duchess of Pop. But, the Princess title is up for grabs.

She receives the bronze medal. She is my definition of “Pop Star.” Her music appeals to the masses. I love numbers.

You see Rihanna lets you in on a secret. Then, suddenly she stops mid sentence. I’m very fond of her puzzling personality.

I still think Disturbia could have been the next Thriller. But, the timing was wrong. This doesn’t change the fact she is the most viewed artist on YouTube. And, that means she’s doing something right.

2. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga deserves the silver medal. She is one of my favorites, because she has built the type of fandom I want. I know for one thing, she has 42 million Twitter followers plus 66 million Facebook likes.

I would enjoy meeting Lady Gaga. She stands for a cause. It’s nice to see her spreading a message.

What I like the most about Lady Gaga is how she came out of nowhere. One day we went to bed and Lady Gaga was our dream girl. Her rise was like a movie starring Beyoncé Knowles.

Lady Gaga doesn’t have to sing another song. Come on: Poker Face, Born This Way, and Bad Romance made her famous forever. After launching off into orbit in 2008, the universe now knows her name.

Beyoncéis big. I nominated her ‘entertainer of the year.’ I believe Beyoncé will only get bigger.

Beyoncé is at her peak. There’s no sign of her slowing down and taking it easy. She’s on a mission.

The ‘GetMe Bodied’ girlfriend embodies the essence of beauty. Her sexy skin radiates on stage and on YouTube. You stop and stare as she struts into the room.

Let me put it this way. Beyoncé is #1. Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna are really hot. But, (the key word) they are NOT Beyoncéin bold letters.

I’ve always been a Beyoncé fan. Through the good and bad, I stick by her. I buy her music, go to her concerts and drink her orange juice.

When life gives me lemonade, I make fresh squeezed orange juice. Beyoncé is different. If you want to be on her level, you must understand your uniqueness.

Did you know Beyoncé started with Destiny’s Child? If you were born in the 90s, you may not know this fact. What Paul McCartney is to the Beatles, Beyoncé is to Destiny’sChild.

Let me be the first to say, the Beatles will always be the best band until the year 3,000. But, as a solo artist Beyoncé is as good as it gets. Who can deny her?

Steve Jobs changed the music business with the iPod, iPad and iTunes. Michael Jackson’s influenced pop culture and cemented his legacy as the King of Pop with the Thriller album. Beyoncé is changing the entertainment industry with her self-titled album, tour, and all around body of work.
