NBC SNL Episode 2 Breakdown: Was This One Great? 

Let’s begin the breakdown recognizing SNL Host Michael B. Jordan and musical guest Lil Baby. Last weekend Aubrey Plaza did a fantastic job hosting the TV show. This weekend was Jordan’s turn. Would he bring as much energy or even more? Everybody had an expectation for him. What was yours?

I felt Michael B. Jordan was going to slam dunk this one. Like the superstar he is, Jordan’s crossover to live television was a no brainer. Before writing this blog post, I learned more about the actor and published another blog post you might enjoy. Who knew the extent of his television presence? The Creed III Director/ Lead Actor possesses a multitude of talents.

It was a solid opening for episode 2. SNL covered the latest in politics as usual and got the ball rolling.  Not too long after Michael B. Jordan came onto the stage, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, and Ego Nwodim came on or should I say came on to him. So far, the TV show was hilarious. Saturday Night Live knows how to play up every tool in their toolkit. By far the funniest thing was Ego showing up on stage in a wedding dress. This one was great. The material was well-written from start to finish. Like Creed, the night was packed with punches. 

Was Lil Baby Pretty Good?

When Lil Baby took the stage to perform the hit California Breeze, it was a wrap. Saturday Night Live had me sold on the night. Michael B. Jordan owned it. Every sketch delivered a ton of value. Just like I tweeted before the show even started, this was TV gold. There were so many elements that combined to make this work seem effortless.

What Was the Skit That Stole the Night?

If there’s one prerecorded skit that stole the night, it was Michael B. Jordan playing the State Farm guy. I tweeted that the insurance companies owe SNL money. All that advertisement can’t be free. This had to generate the most responses on Twitter because everybody was talking about it. Overall, Jordan was all over the place demonstrating his range. He played a water guy and a fireman. Well, he played a stripper dressed as a firefighter with pregnant baby mama issues. 

Last But Not Least

What else should an SNL TV show watcher know about after episode 2? Kenan Thompson had his moment playing a doorman on Weekend Update. Colin Jost and Michael Che are a good team. Lil Baby’s second song was a little more dramatic. It told a story and could crossover genres. Whoever was his pianist was incredible.

Jurassic World Dominion Countdown

Jurassic World Dominion gives new meaning to the expression living under a rock. What’s your comfort level with stones? When does the stone age start and end? It seems like we will be living in the Jurassic period in June. So let’s begin where the story ends as we start our countdown to another movie.

Making a fire may not require rubbing stones together, but it still works. No matter what period, you need elements of fire to dominate the planet. In 2022, the release of Jurassic World Dominion is right on time.

Coming to theaters June 10, Jurassic World Dominion stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Shining brighter than ever, the Hollywood stars will align and create a lunar event. The onscreen chemistry of Pratt and Howard will catapult the box office walls. I expect this movie to rule the box office. And shattered records are also predicted. Will they run out of tickets to print? Who knows?

Jurassic World Dominion is the third movie in the Jurassic World franchise. Before World, we had Jurassic Park. It’s more than American. These flicks are a part of global popular culture. Whether you see it on the big or small screen, the film has fascinating characters who will live on in our imaginations.

Park Vs. World

Do you like Park or World better? Should we even compare them? Are they collectively the same franchise? Whichever way you see them, you must see them. In 2022, World will have superior
special effects, but what about the screenwriting and acting?
Because Jurassic Park and Jurassic World function as joint ventures, it’s challenging to answer the above questions. Jurassic World Dominion should be huge. Don’t be surprised if this one is the biggest in terms of profit and success. Here is the countdown.

    Is Billie Eilish the New Miley Cyrus? The moment has arrived. It is time to recognize greatness and give credit where credit is due. Does the name Billie Eilish ring a bell? Billie Eilish is taking over the music industry. Billie Eilish is the new Miley Cyrus. I make this bold claim because she has the chops. The 18-year-old songstress is incredible. She has the Midas touch. 

    Her amazing potential is evident in the music she creates. She could be a musical creative genius. Time will tell. Days ago, Miley Cyrus covered Billie Eilish’s My Future. Miley knows Billie is the real deal. That’s why she is giving her a shoutout in the most flattering way possible. 

    I never thought this day would arrive. Billie Eilish is Miley Cyrus 2.0. Miley’s done a lot of great things like Hannah Montana for instance. I don’t believe Billie will replicate Hannah Montana, but who knows? Strange things happen. I have a lot of respect for Miley’s career but it is time to pass the torch. 

    The Billie Eilish brand is worldwide. Her name will only get bigger in the coming years. She’s accomplished so much already. Did you know this singer sings the theme song of the new James Bond movie No Time to Die? This is the top song in the United Kingdom. The songstress is going places. I learned about Billie Eilish through Alicia Keys. Have you heard Ocean Eyes? Alicia Keys covered the Billie song on Jimmy Fallon. 

    Watch out for Billie. She’s doing all the right things. Plus, she’s making great music. I like her style. There aren’t many singers like her. She is a splendid entertainer with a bright future. Check her out on Spotify and YouTube. I might buy her album.  I look forward to watching her career rise for many years to come.

Is 2019 Golden Globe Awards the Best Yet?

The wait is over. The red carpet is finally rolled out. And the show is on.

The 2019 Golden Globe Awards hosted by Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh was worth the wait. I expect a little drama, a lot of comedy, some suspense, and possibly some romance. Is it possible that Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, from A Star is Born, kiss?

Stars gather in Beverly Hills, California tonight to celebrate a momentous occasion. Live at the Beverly Hilton hotel, celebrities are dressed their best and have prepared awesome speeches in advance, no matter what they say to the contrary.

The Golden Globes is a golden opportunity for Hollywood stars to shine. All eyes are on Hollywood right now. Tonight, we honor their excellence in the motion picture business.


The movie industry is notoriously difficult to get establish in for a variety of reasons. Everybody isn’t cut out to be a movie star. Actors must audition, get agents, and many times they go through a gruesome process. Still, don’t get discouraged, because there are many roles you can play. It takes a village to raise a family and an army to make a movie.

I enjoyed every minute of the Golden Globes so far. It was fun seeing all the stars share the spotlight. You’ll learn about what’s hot on TV and the movies you might have missed.

There are a ton of amazing entertainment choices. It is impossible to see every movie and TV series. Plus, a new celebrity is created every day.


Overall, the presenters made a nice contribution. Watching the Big Bang Theory cast on stage together was a sight to behold. Taraji P. Henson and Gina Rodriguez added to the diversity along with the Black Panther cast.

Crazy Rich Asians were celebrated. All actors received their glory. You got everything you wanted in a show. The 2019 Golden Globes may be the best yet.

    Zoe Kravitz is one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses. She is one of the brightest stars in showbiz. Right now, the 29-year-old is one of the best under 30. The celebrity is making headlines for dating Karl Glusman. She could turn him into the next Leonardo DiCaprio if he’s lucky. Pop Sugar is comparing their romance to Rihanna’s love interests.
    Who wouldn’t like to date Zoe? The entertainer is so beautiful. Look at her, she is stunning. Plus, when she is not making headlines she is making major movies. Her career is in the beginning stages and she’s already done fantastic work. You can watch her Pretend We’re Kissing and Good Kill movies on Netflix. Also, she was wonderful in X-Men: First Class.
    Although she received her start in No Reservations in 2007, I feel the 2011 X-Men movie put her on the map. She shared the X-Men universe with Halle Berry. Like Halle, she is a true artist. She is in route to become the next big thing. Zoe Kravitz does whatever it takes. Moreover, Kravitz is living the Hollywood dream. I think she will win an Academy Award in due time.
    It’s amazing what she gets to do for a living. She gets to star in the biggest blockbusters and critically-acclaimed Indie films. She roleplays to perfection and shines like a diamond on the silver screen. Kravitz doesn’t make bad movies. Every script she touches turns to gold. She is a great supporting actor on par with Rosario Dawson. However, if given the opportunity she won’t disappoint as a lead actress.
    Do you follow her on SnapChat, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter? The daughter of Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz is making her parents proud. She is a Tinseltown favorite, and she’s gaining momentum. The star is steadily building her brand name and reputation.

    I discovered Dua Lipa on Twitter. Not only can she sing her butt off, she has smart fashion sense too. In a way, she is a lot like Bebe Rexha but bigger and better. Moreover, the British singer has sung her way into the hearts of millions of fans.
    If you desire hot music, this hot songstress can sing it for you. She also models. In fact, she got her start in showbiz as a model.
Do you think she’s a hotter model or singer? One thing is for sure: she is hot. It’s ironic Dua Lipa even made a song called Hotter Than Hell.
Check out her Saturday Night Live performances. You’ll find she has the chops. She can croon with the best of them.
    Dua Lipa is a big deal. I’ve been blogging for 5 years now and I’ve seen all kind of artists come and go. Some of them just didn’t have the goods. You see the best ones have a certain pedigree.
    Dua Lipa seems to be high caliber. She’s extremely popular in the United Kingdom; and in a matter of time her fame in America will skyrocket. You could argue she’s already there, but she’s not quite a superstar.
    I look forward to more of what Dua Lipa has to offer. She’s on top of her game. Plus, she’s bold. I believe she has done a superb job launching her career. She’s not afraid of the spotlight. That’s very important because conquering fear is the first step. Without question, Dua Lipa is a big deal.

Are You Binge-Watching The Defenders?

I decided to binge-watch Marvel’s The Defenders on Netflix. The Defenders showcases 4 amazing talents. The series combines Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and the Iron Fist into one. Let’s start the discussion. Are you binge-watching the Defenders?

In this blog, I will analyze the first four episodes.I will tell you what I liked and what I didn’t like. By the end, you’ll see why they call me the Original Entertainment Guru.

I throughly enjoyed the first episode. The story begins in Cambodia with sword fighting and a ton of action. A dying man’s last words were “the real war is in New York City.” As the Immortal Iron Fist flys back on his private plane, he experiences turbulence coupled with a nightmare about Cambodia. His girlfriend comforts him as he wakes up.

Then, it cuts to Jessica Jones. She’s busy doing the usual- lifting cars and shit. Plus, Luke Cage gets out of jail. He doesn’t have time for the man to un-cuff him, so he breaks the cuffs in half with all his might. Meanwhile, Daredevil wins a big case for $11 million.

The first 2 episodes reintroduce all 4 characters in dramatic fashion. It was well written and the acting was terrific. Moreover, the director deserves credit for his vision.

I didn’t like the second episode that much. The third episode was the best so far. It had an unforgettable ending. You gotta check it out and see what I mean. I’ve never seen a more powerful ending to an episode. The fourth episode takes place in a Chinese restaurant.

Overall, the series was well worth the wait. There is something for everybody. The show progressively gets better. In many ways, it is almost like a movie. The Defenders is great TV. I highly recommend binge-watching the Netflix Original series. You may want to watch Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Daredevil first.

I like what Netflix and Marvel are doing. Bringing 4 shows into one is brilliant, brilliant I tell you. If you are into comics, superheroes and the like, it is is a must-see. You receive premium entertainment value. I stopped my binge-watching at the 5th episode. I look forward to seeing the rest. Stay tuned for part II.
