Let me take you on an adventure to Graceland. Imagine being in the presence of royalty. The King of Rock and Roll is alive and well because he faked his death. I’m pulling your leg but let’s keep visualizing His Imperial Majesty ruling his faithful subjects.
You worship the ground he walks on. Of course, he walks around in blue suede shoes. Don’t step on them! He never bought into Michael Jordan’s Nike brand.
“It’s one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready. Now go cat go!” What are your favorite Elvis Presley songs? Without question, Elvis broke down barriers and defined popular culture.


In an alternate universe Marilyn Monroe is Mrs. Elvis Presley. Unfortunately, celebrities aren’t created like this anymore. Elvis was the ultimate celebrity. He epitomized fame and glory.
What is baseball without Babe Ruth? What is music without Elvis Presley? There’s no way you can talk about the history of baseball without bringing up Babe and it’s impossible to discuss music without acknowledging the greatness of Elvis.
I’ll take you to the gift shop here in Graceland. Maybe, I’ll let you go on a shopping spree. Wait; there goes Michael Jackson and Tupac Shakur. They tell us Elvis is underground partying with Madonna and Rihanna. Oh, the contrast! Michael’s tone sounds so soft and Tupac has a deep voice.

What you say, Pac? Gaga’s upset because Madonna’s making it difficult for her to spend time with the king. She thought Tony Bennett could give her some leverage because he knew Elvis in the beginning.
Back to reality, ironically Elvis appealed to your fantasies.

Tupac Shakur aka Makaveli and the Collision of Music and Politics

Guru Jay could have been President Jay because I studied politics in college. My university transcripts demonstrate I’ve aced graduate level political science classes. In fact, I earned my bachelor’s degree with top honors.
I could be like some other “celebrity” bloggers and tell you who to vote for but that’s not my motivation. All I am saying is that the issues matter. What is more, speak the truth, standup, and organize.
Tupac Shakur spoke the truth, stood up, and organized. His lyrics reflected on the constant problems everyday people deal with at stoplights, school, and work. Makeveli said “Instead of a war on poverty, they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me.” Some people want to misinterpret Tupac’s message because they want to keep the status quo in check. That’s why people mistrust candidates running for office.
Moreover, why doesn’t the justice system give all people justice equally? They tried to tarnish Tupac Shakur’s image. The media routinely paints bad pictures of people speaking truth to power. They want to discredit powerful words, but the facts are the facts.
Enough is enough. Tupac constantly created music because he knew his words would get him into trouble. He also knew his words would get other people out of trouble.
I admire how the rapper backed up his words with action. Anybody can talk a good game, and bluff. It’s how you play the game that counts.
Tupac was a controversial figure. His death was tragic. There’s an art to being outspoken.
Like Vincent Van Gogh, Tupac didn’t have time to enjoy his success. However, he leaves behind a valuable legacy and priceless art. Listen to his music and connect.
I feel society should live by a moral code. Stop the killing. Start the healing.
Understand you are wrong sometimes. Think before you speak and don’t offend people unnecessarily. Remember it’s easier to make many enemies than to make a few friends.
Don’t forget I’m like Tupac “…because you ain’t never had a friend like me.”

Looking back at Brad Pitt’s career, he has every reason to rest on his laurels. First of all, he’s married to one of the sexiest women alive. Plus, he has all the money in the world. Thanks to World War Z, Brad is immune to poverty.
Have you seen Inglorious Basterds, The Big Short and By the Sea?
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button actor should have won an Oscar already. I could build cases for his performances in Burn After Reading and Fury too. By the way, I forgot to say he is one of the sexiest men alive. Do you agree? Millions of adoring fans worship at his feet.
Brad Pitt has taken on challenging roles all while making it look easy. I feel Channing Tatum best deserves to inherit Pitt’s best-kept secrets. Noticeably, Tatum engages his audience through Twitter and social media. Pitt is old school in this respect.
Moreover, Channing Tatum movies are by in large lighter than Brad Pitt’s films. Brad Pitt can teach Channing how to be taken more seriously and still have a good time. White House Down displayed the movie star in his finest element.

I also thoroughly enjoyed his performances in 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street. His chemistry with Jonah Hill can’t be faked. Like Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum can play a variety of parts.
I want to see a Channing Tatum and Jennifer Lawrence sex scene before it’s too late. For now, we can look forward to the Hot Commodity Chris Pratt having sex with Jennifer in The Passengers.
I believe Brad Pitt should mentor Channing Tatum. Hollywood’s secrets should be passed down only to the worthy. Channing Tatum has proven his worthiness.

How Jennifer Hudson Is a Winner

American Idol was the launching pad for many great musicians. Although Jennifer Hudson didn’t win the contest, she’s had one amazing career. What is more, she won the Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls.
Do you remember when American Idol was the number 1 rated TV show? How many years was Paula Abdul at Simon Cowell’s mercy? And don’t forget about our DAWG Randy Jackson. Kelly Clarkson was the first winner 15 years ago and is still relevant.

I believe Jennifer Hudson is a better actress than singer. She’s a fine performer. The Chicago native works hard and directors like that about her.

The celebrity can change expressions at the drop of a dime. Moreover, give Hudson credit for being conscience of the roles she accepts. She’s not hungry for a paycheck. However, she’s ready to deliver topnotch performances. Do you want to see her on Broadway or what?

Without question, her voice was made to be loud and sweet. I feel Jennifer Hudson is unique. Do they even make her pedigree anymore? Watch her American Idolaudition and you’ll see what I mean. Plus, the star shed 80 pounds since auditioning; and she was a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers.
In addition to a striking vocal range, Hudson demonstrates terrific acting range. Her Mister & Pete performance conveys enormous emotions. She’ll take you there. Wherever you want to go, let this Chicago homegirl be your tour guide.

There’s no doubt JHud is a multitalented entertainer. Clive Davis is on the record calling Jennifer Hudson the next Whitney Houston. There’s still some time left for Hudson to produce a few best selling albums.
It seems her movie success has stalled her music success. Right now I believe she should focus exclusively on singing, recording, and touring because Whitney Houston set an extremely high bar musically. This year I expect Jennifer to turn up her music game a level.

The Think Like A Man music video shows the star in glowing light. Coincidentally, I love her Spotlight single. The No One Gonna Love You songstress gets her fair share of love shown from fans and collaborators.

Can you picture a Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Hudson duet? What if Jennifer made a love song with Jordin Sparks? It could be similar to Beyoncé and Alicia Keys– Put It In A Love Song.
Final point, Jennifer Hudson is a fighter. She was an underdog. Like Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, she’s got soul. I’m always rooting for her to win on the job and in life.

Oscars Recap

February 29 is a rare day. It is my honor to write and publish on a Leap Year. I will choose my words carefully considering this special opportunity.
Last night, my family and I watched the Oscars while eating dinner and later on some corn for popping. Host Chris Rock took control of the stage right from the start. In the words of Kevin Hart on the red carpet, Rock addressed “the elephant in the room.” Many of Chris’s jokes crossed the line, but wasn’t this expected?
Early on the musical sounds of Sam Smith filled the room. Additionally, Brie Larson won Best Lead Actress for Room. But first, Alicia Vikander (Spotlight) earned it for Best Supporting Actress. However, that was after the Weeknd performed Earned It.
Do you spy a pattern? Mark Rylance won Best Supporting Actor for his Bridge of Spies performance. If you weren’t a fan of repetition, you might be furiously angry that Mad Max: Fury Road scored 6 Oscars. Comic Louis C.K. lightened up the mood with his Mad Max bit.

Marvel supermen Chadwick Boseman and Chris Evans announced Mad Max for back-to-back awards. Plus, Superman himself Henry Cavill presented alongside Scandal’s Kerry Washington.
On a serious note, Lady Gaga made a bold move with her song standing against sexual violence. Spotlight received the Best Picture. Once again, Alejandro Iñárritu earned Best Director for The Revenant. The Revenant was also awarded Best Cinematography.
I always enjoy watching the Red Carpet. Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan gave fantastic interviews. It almost felt like the SuperBowl.
Ex-Machina deservingly took home a statute. Ryan Gosling joked that he and Russell Crowe shared 2 Oscars between them. Oh, in case that wasn’t enough, Chris Rock raised $65,342 selling Girl Scout cookies for his daughters inside the Dolby Theatre.

Last but not least, Leonardo Dicaprio earned Best Lead Actor for The Revenant. I believe this was his moment. All of Hollywood was proud of Dicaprio as he stood tall on that stage and accepted this amazing achievement. The moral of the story is: always believe in your dreams. Given an opportunity, take a leap of faith.

Who’s Hotter? Gigi Hadid Vs. Cara Delevingne

Picture a million more supermen and supermodels. That’s what the world needs the most. Although America’s Next Top Model has officially ended, the supermodel’s quest goes on due to the likes of Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne.
Do Gigi and Cara look like a billion dollars or what? Appearances mean everything to models. Even actresses must dress the part to sell the product. Remember all supermodels can be actresses but not every actress can model.

So, who’s hotter? Right now, I believe Hadid is hotter. However, at one time Delevingne was number one.
Supermodel rankings change like the prices of blue chip stocks. It seems the stock of Delevingne is dropping a little bit. And Hadid’s stock price is soaring because let’s face it- she’s the hottest commodity in the business.

Who wants FaceTime with Gigi? The answer is everybody. This in no way takes away from Cara’s sexiness. I know for a fact you want to Skype Cara.
You see the hotness factor of both models is between 97 and 100. So, I understand if you say Delevingne is hotter than Hadid.

Born in London, England the 23-year-old Cara measures at 5 ft. 8 in (1.73 m). Her hair is a light brown color and she has blue eyes. Apparently beauty runs in her family, because her sister Poppy is a model too. Storm Model Management manages the Delevingne sisters.
The 5 ft. 10 in 20-year-old Gigi Hadid (Kendall Jenner’s BFF) originates out of Los Angeles, California. Malibu’s most wanted model is blonde haired and blue eyed. Her younger sister Bella is also a model. Both babes are signed under IMG Models.
This debate I started today will be around for years to come. They will say Cara Delevingne is the next Kate Moss. They will call Sports Illustrated Gigi Hadid the best supermodel in the world. All I ask you is to remember Guru Jay told you first. Like Superman, I’m one in a million.

What would Modern Family be without Sofía
Vergara? Go to Sofía’s Twitter page right now and it reads: Modern Family! She embraces her role as a hot foreign wife/ mama and that’s what I believe makes the show great.
Her character lets her husband lead the old fashioned way. However, the other characters have different structures in their relationships. There is a gay couple. And there’s another couple where the wife takes charge. Clearly, Modern Family represents modern times.
I caught last night’s new episode of Modern Familybecause I promised you a Sofía Vergara story. How can I write about Sofía’s hot body of work and exclude her hottest work?
In this episode, the neighborhood lost their electricity due to a thunderstorm. They kept trying to regain power and failed until the end. All I really cared about was Vergara’s character. I wanted to see her latest material in order to create fresher content.

 

I feel most bloggers blog about the same stuff and that gives readers the same old tired stories. I want you to hear my voice by reading my words. Speaking of voices, I enjoy listening to Sofía talk in a Colombian accent. It’s a sexy tone, am I right?
This celebrity has my number. Remember numbers don’t lie. Millions in Latin America are proud of Sofía Vergara’s accomplishments. She is a success story.
The Hot Pursuit actress hasn’t cooled off any. She’s still hot as ever. Plus, her hotness was on full display during last night’s episode.

Last summer I published a piece called Sofía Vergara, Eva Longoria, and Brand/ Star Power. I explain how Vergara is more of a brand and Longoria is more of a star. I stand by my words but I now realize Vergara has reached superstar status.
Sometimes I feel like Shakespeare and must compare summer days to beautiful women.
Sofía Vergara should receive a life time achievement award. She has achieved success as a model, talk show host, comedienne, and actress. The brand and star came a long way from Colombia to Hollywood. What would Modern Family be without Sofía Vergara? Perhaps a better question is- what is TV and showbiz without Sofía Vergara?
