If you want to laugh your ass off, then watch Why Him?. It is a must-see comedy movie. But let me warn you about the vulgar language. Goodie-twoshoes should stay away because James Franco curses up a storm. Nevertheless, the movie lives up to the hype.

Why Him? is about a smalltown girl named Stephanie from Michigan (played by Zoey Deutch) who falls in love with a wealthy wild California computer guy (played by James Franco), while she attends Stanford. Her parents have no idea who she’s dating. All they know is that Christmas will be spent in California because their daughter invited them. And boy, does this young man have plans for their daughter.

James Franco plays the lead role (Laird). Laird isn’t your stereotypical computer genius. He loves making video games and he loves making love. Laird lives in a mansion with a gatehouse. Buffalos walk around freely on his property. He’s a straightarrow and that’s why he is misunderstood.

He plans on marrying Stephanie, but he wants permission from her father first. Bryan Cranston plays the role of father (Ned). Cranston puts on a memorable performance. You’ll love the climax when Ned finally has had it up to here with Laird.

You see Laird has won over everybody except Ned. First of all, he makes a bad first impression. Secondly, Laird makes a bad second impression. Ned doesn’t like the multimillionaire for a variety of reasons. I won’t discuss the main reason because I don’t want to spoil it for you.

This may be the funniest movie I’ve seen all year. It is a 5 star comedy. James Franco and Zoey Deutch are a believable couple. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect union.

The script was well-written. The acting was phenomenal. I would definitely watch it again. You should see it and laugh your ass off too.

Emmys 2016 Recap: Red Carpet and Winners

Could you feel the good vibrations on the red carpet last night?

Hopefully, you got a chance to watch the Emmy Awards. In this blog, we will experience it again. In case you missed it, you’ll also appreciate my recap.

To begin with, the interviews set the tone for the night. There was a little something for everybody. Are you much into fashion and style? Did you enjoy seeing the actresses and actors strutting their stuffs?

We saw John Travolta and Amy Schumerarrive on the scene. Naturally, Amy said something inappropriate. And Travolta was cool like he’s been- for the past 40 years.

The Emmys literally started up their engines as host Jimmy Kimmel hitchhiked with TV and showbiz’s biggest stars. To start it off, he got a little Carpool Karaoke for us from James Corden. Of course, Jimmy was kicked out of the car because of his bad singing. Other celebrities including Julia Louis-Dreyfus kicked him to the curb.

Entertainment award shows are the highlight of an entertaining season. After all that hard work, talent is rightly rewarded by the Television Academy. There were tons of winners Sunday- too many to name everyone.

Jeffrey Tambor was the talk of the Tinseltown because of his performance in Transparent. It seems Transparent owned the night. In fact, Jimmy Kimmel handed Tambor an Emmy when the show first started.

Tori Kelly sang a beautiful Hallelujah honoring the memories of those we lost this year ending with Prince. Louie Anderson won the first award. Were fans pleased to see Mr. Robot take home an Emmy or what? Plus, Game of Thrones and Veep were recognized with multiple wins.

Moreover, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story won big. Courtney B. Vance and Sterling K. Brown took home Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, respectively. You also saw Key & Peele receive their respects they paid dearly for on the comedic side. It’s all about sacrifice.

To be honest, the Emmys were dull but enjoyable with coffee. I don’t fault the nominees because the TV shows themselves are incredible. I suggest more music and/or better clips next time. Otherwise, Everything was all good.

Ellen DeGeneres Should Make Oprah Money


The generous Ellen DeGeneres generates electricity on the Ellen show. When the lights are out, the first thing you do is call the electric company. How about giving Ellen a call the next time this happens. I can’t make any promises but I’m sure she’ll at least make you smile.

For 14 years Ellen has been doing exactly that and eating the cake. Everyday on the Ellen Show is like your birthday. You never know what’s up her sleeves. The celebrity is full of surprises.

Soon, she’ll be giving away cars to everybody like Oprah did. Like orange is the new black, Ellen is the new Oprah. You watch.

Wouldn’t it be great if she starred on the Netflix hit OITNB? At a minimum, she could make a cameo or maybe voiceover even. Who’s waiting?


Her creativity assists in an entertaining experience. Speaking of experience, who else in showbiz (but Oprah) can match her clout?

Another thing- what if she did Carpool Karaoke with James Corden? That’s why I love celebrities and entertainment so much. There’s a whole lot we can do. Let your imagination run wild and I’ll take you there.

Do you like the Ellen show? I’ll say it again! Ellen DeGeneres is a standup gal. You like to watch her because she’s amazing at monologues and interviews.

Last week was premiere week on Ellen. I got a chance to watch the full Friday show live. In case you missed it, Tom Hanks made a grand entrance. What is more, DeGeneres donated her largest gift in history to her home state of Louisiana. As you may know, Louisiana got hit hard by flooding recently.


Ellen couldn’t stand by and watch this devastation. This is why Britney Spears (who took the famous Ed O’Neill Selfie) joined the team. Right now, it is incredible that the talk show host is backing up her words with action.

Donald Glover and Trevor Noah are two of the biggest names in comedy and entertainment. Movie industry executives come knocking on their doors. In other words, they’ll always find work in showbiz because their brands are durable. What is more, Glover and Noah stay ready to shake, rattle, and roll.

Tina Fey took Donald under her wing when he was 21 years old as a writer for 30 Rock. Since then, the multi-talented entertainer has released rap albums, starred in comedy specials, and been featured in movies. Without question, the celebrity provides premium entertainment value. That’s why he has appeared on premium cable channels such as Comedy Central.

South African sensation Trevor Noah turned his standup career into a comfy desk job. He is the perfect host for the Daily Show. He doesn’t just make it look easy; you can tell he’s having the time of his life. Nobody can deny the jolly good fellow’s energy.

Trevor Noah and Donald Glover are two celebrities who can make a difference with their words. From Johannesburg to Pittsburgh, people care about what Trevor has to say. Moreover, Donald influences the comedy world because he is one of the hottest comedians right now.

Like the greats Richard Pryor and George Carlin, these comics aren’t afraid to risk everything. They’ll gladly leave it all out on the table if it means creating superior content. Also, their comedic IQs are on genius levels. You rarely see comedians who are able to appeal to everyone.

I chose to write about Donald and Trevor because they have opposing styles. You see the American is laid back and the South African is high-energy. When it’s all said and done, we have a winning combination.

At the end of the day, these comedians are relevant. Plus, they make a killing from the comedy game. That’s why we need insurance on Donald Glover and Trevor Noah.

Summer is a day away and the weather is perfect. The sun is shining, so you are smiling. Let’s take a selfie with Ed O’Neill.
If Bill Murray ticks off the clock, Ed O’Neill has the time. What if Netflix gave this actor his own Christmas special? What is the real O’Neill like?
I don’t get into gossip. I just call them like I see them. Although Ed’s old school, he’s cool enough to be on Instagram.
First, Married with Children may be the most watched TV show ever. It clearly is one of the most watchable. Who’s watching Married with Children right now?
Fans love characters like Al Bundy. Do you think Ed O’Neill hates being called Al Bundy in public? I don’t think so.
Moreover, Modern Family remains on top of the TV show rankings. People pass remotes because grandma must see Modern Family. Maybe, you have DVR so everybody is happy.
You rarely see Ed in movies but when you do he’s the most interesting man in the world. That’s my version of the popular Dos Equis commercial. Jokes aside, his performance in the Bone Collector was no laughing matter. He demonstrated his dramatic knack in the film.
Plus he seems laid back. So laid back, he didn’t recognize Britney Spears. Here’s why I give him the benefit of doubt…
Beautiful women constantly surround Ed O’Neil. Christina Applegate. Sofia Vergara. So he doesn’t see Britney Spears as the average person does. Also, Britney wasn’t dressed like a pop star when she asked for a selfie.
It’s interesting how long Ed O’Neill’s been in business as a leading TV actor. Can you believe Married with Children will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year? What is more, this year Ed O’Neil will celebrate his 30thanniversary with his lovely wife Catherine Rusoff.

Funny Girl Margaret Cho

Comedy pushes limits. That’s why Margaret Cho is your pusher woman. She represents her hometown San Francisco beautifully. What a beautiful city and woman. Let’s celebrate Cho because that’s what we do here.
Too many celebrities get chopped up and spit out for no reason. I prefer celebrities like Margaret because she speaks her mind freely. Should we start punishing people based on their life’s perspectives?
The Korean American comedian is very vocal about change and social issues. Some will take what she said and twist it in a knot. That’s wrong. Although there’s a price to fame, it shouldn’t cost everything.
You see Cho can be extreme like Russell Brand. As a standup comedian, her comedy compares with Amy Schumer. And the comedic actress plays great supporting parts too.
Picture Margaret Cho and Ken Jeong in a movie head-to-head. Margaret Cho gets recognized because she developed her talent. Who watched Cho on the View? Her and Whoopi have awesome chemistry. You can’t fake it.

Plus Margaret Cho’s brand is built to last. Can you believe she’s 47? Her face doesn’t look a day over 35. I admire celebrities that extend their time in showbiz.
Hollywood and entertainment are the most superficial businesses. You gotta constantly prove yourself in order to make it. The funny girl has done just that.
Whether through music, on TV, or in movies, Margaret Cho’s name rings your bell. Does she have poise and grace or what? Yet her filthy mouth barks attention. I would love to see her live in person.
Funny Girl is a 1968 musical film starring Barbra Streisand. Funny girl Margaret Cho creates throwback material by paying homage to Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor. She is a true comedian who breaks through glass ceilings.
What is more, we appreciate Margaret Cho for entertaining us and rocking the microphone for all these years.

Why George Lopez Is Champion

Who are your five favorite standup comedians? George Lopez makes my list because he is a distinguished gentleman like Eddie Murphy. It’s not always a bad thing when the gray hair starts showing. The best comedians are experienced on stage and in life too.
This doesn’t mean soldiers need to take a bullet or need to get fired at and take cover. Funny people get my drift. I’m a long time George Lopez fan.
You see there is a lesson in Lopez’s story. That’s why Lopez is a focal point in Elite Latino Comedians: Best in Show Biz. Remember elite isn’t a bad word but fuck is. All I am saying is there is nothing wrong with doing your best. This Hollywood star keeps shining especially in dark times.

That’s when you know you’re on top. The tabloids can write anything and it doesn’t faze you. George Lopez tells the truth. He takes risks. For instance, Spare Parts was a film that could have failed. Instead this movie showcased his skills as a dramatic actor much like Reign Over Me did for Adam Sandler.
What is more, the Latino, Asian, and African American communities respect Lopez for championing important causes. I highly recommend watching Spare Parts- a true story about a Latino high school beating MIT in an underwater robotics tournament. It is thought provoking.
Plus the movie is funny. How can you not laugh with George Lopez? If Steve Harvey is the #1 Answer, then George Lopez is Numero Uno.
The Mexican American actor has came a long way to make it big. He got here by staying focused. So the moral of the story is to don’t lose focus and keep trying. George got knocked down on the ground, but he got back up. And that’s what champions do.
