Friends from College Is the Perfect Netflix Original Comedy Binge

Friends from College season 1 starring Keegan-Michael Key is the perfect Netflix Original comedy binge. Each episode averages approximately 30 minutes in length and there is a total of eight in the series, right now. Soon, there will be more episodes because season 2 is expected to air on January 11, 2019.

You can reasonably finish your binge over the weekend. If you choose to binge-watch the show, I guarantee you’ll enjoy every minute. Friends from College is fun, light, dark, laid-back, and energetic when necessary.

I watched every episode and I’m fascinated by the script and character development. Admittedly, some things are predictable. The characters grow and the script flips. I feel there isn’t a better setting or a more perfect plot. Friends from College is about a group of college friends from Harvard who reunite in New York City.

Keegan-Michael Key is a novelist named Ethan, who’s married to a lawyer who hates her job. They don’t have any kids together. And Ethan is cheating on his wife with her best friend.

Plus, Ethan secretly has feelings for Marianne. That’s pure speculation on my part. Marianne is a friend from college who allows Ethan and his wife to live in her New York apartment rent-free.

Ethan is the character you love to hate. The comedy show is predictably all about Ethan. Fred Savage plays Ethan’s gay best friend and agent named Max. Max’s partner is a surgeon, who also graduated from Harvard. He openly hates Ethan, because he thinks Max has secret feelings for Ethan.

You see Keegan-Michael Key and Fred Savage are a dynamic duo. If Keegan-Michael Key’s Ethan is Batman, then Fred Savage’s Max is Robin.  Max is Ethan’s muse. They make up stories and write books.

The TV show debut on July 14, 2017. Friends from College season 2 returns after a year-long break next week. Clear your schedules next weekend, because the perfect binge is back.

Luke Cage Is Back and Better Than Ever

BY: GURU JAY

Have you heard? Luke Cage is back and better than ever. Days ago, Netflix released season 2 of the hit Marvel series.

Check out Luke Cage! You won’t regret it. The show is the total package.

It has everything you want from action to romance. The first episode begins with an unforgettable fight scene. Plus, the ever so beautiful Rosario Dawson returns as Luke’s love interest.

I remember when Luke Cage (Mike Colter) had a recurring role on Jessica Jones. Mike was a major reason fans kept watching the TV show. I can’t imagine anybody else playing the lead character but Mike Colter. He made me want to be a bartender for a week.

Luke Cage sets the bar high. If you don’t know, he has super human strength and a bullet-proof body. He is the superhero from New York City everybody loves and loves to hate.

You see the crime fighter has made a few enemies along the way. In season 2, he tackles drug dealers from the start. He must overcome organized crime to get to the end game.

Expect season 2 to be exciting. From what I’ve seen so far, the acting is incredible. And the script is well-written.

Luke Cage goes by many names. One of those names is Power Man. The other is Carl Lucas.

Luke’s father, a preacher man, refuses to call him anything except his government name. His father gives a thrilling speech in the beginning of season 2 episode 1. His father strongly disapproves of Luke Cage’s way of life.

Still, Luke Cage is raising hell up in Harlem. He is kicking ass and taking names. Although he’s a good guy, he must worry about both sides of the law. Harlem’s hero is ready for a challenge. He may have to take on the devil. Watch Luke Cage and come see what all the fuss is about.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Five Stars

Are you binge-watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? Part 1 of Season 4 is now available on Netflix. I highly recommend watching this comedy.

Season 4 is six episodes of fun. Plus, the first 3 seasons are enjoyable too. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a very popular show.

According to Streamline, the sitcom is number 1 on Netflix. Additionally, it is the best comedy TV show by other metrics. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidtcompetes with ABC, FOX, CBS, and NBC sitcoms. Soon, I believe Netflix will release ratings to prove it.

Here is a brief background of the TV show. The show is about a cult survivor named Kimmy Schmidt. Kimmy ultimately ends up living in New York City after the cult is rescued from a bunker. They were living underground for 15 years.

She must cope with trauma and start a new life. Kimmy deals with real world issues such as underemployment and low social status. At first, she can’t even find an apartment there.

Eventually, the now nanny moves in with Titus Andromedon. If you thought Kimmy Schmidt was a character, then Titus is another thing coming. In many ways, Titus is the backbone of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Every episode gives you something different. Ellie Kemper is awesome. She does a fantastic job staying in character and progressing.

Ellie Kemper tickles your funny bone… with a feather of course. She’s extremely likeable and pleasant. I wonder what is next for Kemper. She should star in major movies.

Moreover, there is a natural flow and sequence of events on this sitcom. The writing is terrific. And the characters are unbelievable.

Your sense of humor is taken on a journey. If you like over-the-top jokes and want a thrilling ride, then get on the bandwagon. I can’t promise you Lyft or Uber but you get five stars.

Goliath Season 2 is coming to your home tomorrow through Amazon Prime video. If you haven’t heard about it already, Amazon Studios has produced 8 fresh episodes. And if they’re anything like Season 1, you are in for a special treat.

You should binge-watch Goliath season 1 so that you have a recap. Plus, binge-watching the first season will make binge-watching the second season a lot more better. You see, every show has a twist and a cliff hanger. There’s no other way to put it, but to say that the writing on Goliath is brilliant. Moreover, the scenes keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

Do you want to have a fun weekend? If you’re a fan of suspense, drama, and a little comedy, then this is your show to binge-watch. I will tell you more about the show in this blog.

Believe it or not, everyone doesn’t have Amazon Prime and everyone doesn’t know about this great TV show. You’ll be surprised. The legal thriller is really about life in two different worlds.

Goliath is an unprecedented tale of one man taking on a greedy corporation. Attorney Billy McBride doesn’t take crap from anybody, including his ex-wife who works for the law firm representing this greediness. He is not afraid of their thugs. Moreover, he has his resources and his own way to get information.

Billy used to belong to the “superior” world until he lost his path. Donald Cooperman a former buddy and now is a formidable foe. Right now Billy is in an “inferior” world and is in a fragile state of mind.

Still, he fights back not in a physical sense but with his brains. I don’t want to give too much away. But there are some sexy characters and ugly ones too, depending how you look at it.

To conclude, Billy McBride pounces on the opportunity to make something of himself and the world he lives in, all the while being addicted to alcohol. The Amazon Prime series is highly entertaining and addictive. I suggest you binge-watch season 1 when you have the chance.

Why You Should Binge-Watch GLOW Right Now

BY: GURU JAY
On June 29th, Netflix is scheduled to air season 2 of GLOW. That’s 10 brand “spanking’” new episodes of a funky and wild show binge-watchers love to crave. From the makers of Orange Is the New Black, the show is set in the funky and wild 1980s, a much simpler time I must add.

If you enjoy slams, ‘bams’, and thank you-mams, then check out Netflix’s GLOW. Get your popcorn ready and binge-watch right now! I recently decided to binge-watch GLOW prior to this summer release because I feel preparation is key. The big day is approximately 2 weeks away, and I don’t know what to expect. But I’m prepared for everything, because anything can happen.
What are fans saying about GLOW? They’re just as excited as I am. With over 150,000 Facebook and Twitter followers “us” fans’ eyeballs are glued to our iPhones’ screens waiting on Tweets and Facebook posts from GLOW. We’ve seen trailer 1, trailer 3, and the one in between.
By the way, here’s a tidbit. GLOW is an acronym for Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. What more can you want as far as entertainment is concerned?
Woman wrestlers are a major component of the WWE’s appeal. Plus, what would the UFC be without Ronda Rousey’s reign? GLOW takes a fun look and gives a unique perspective on the world.
Although the setting takes place in the 1980s, you can draw parallels of GLOW to nowadays. Like the TV show, you could argue that people desperately want to be rich and famous. It doesn’t make sense, but I think more people want to be famous than rich. What do you think? Tell me in the comments.
I like GLOW for a variety of reasons. Netflix put a lot of time and effort into the series. The characters are likeable. Plus, there’s a nice mixture of talent. At the end of the day, their formula is working and it’s a big success.

Why Electric Dreams Is Worth Binge-Watching

I highly recommend binge-watching Electric Dreams. You will thoroughly enjoy the Amazon Original by Phillip K. Dick. It is a very entertaining series from the start. The anthology is a collection of intriguing episodes sparking your imagination. This blog post will review the first episode called ‘Real Life.’

In episode 1, Anna Paquin’s character and Terrence Howard’s character share a virtual fantasy world together where they live out each other’s lives in ‘Electric Dreams.’ Anna Paquin is a lesbian policewoman and Terrance Howard is a Tech billionaire. They visual another world- one futuristic and the other modern day. Anna Paquin lives in the future, and Terrence Howard lives in 2012.

Through these virtual headsets and microchips they’re able to connect with each other. In other words, there are two worlds on a collision course. Unfortunately, in both worlds they suffer tragedies. Howard’s character loses his wife and Paquin’s character ultimately enters a coma.

It is not a coincidence that the two main characters share the same lover. The episode reveals many connections such as the same scenery. As the story unfolds, you’ll find familiar places and similar scenarios.

The setting takes place in futuristic and present day Chicago. It revolves around ‘real life’ and science. Technology is a major theme. Moreover, how technology connects us and divides us is explored.

The actors did an amazing job. Every detail was well thought out and the cinematography was incredible. Give credit to the director and producers.

Finally, the episode warns people about the pitfalls of virtual reality. On the one hand, virtual reality is good because it’s an escape mechanism. They call it a vacation. On the other hand, virtual reality is bad because it ultimately leads to disconnection.

Electric Dreams explores the dynamics of society in multiple ways. In the future, we have flying cars and holograms but less compassion. Still, in both worlds, we need more compassion.

Who’s Watching The Tick?

This Saturday I spent some time watching The Tick with family. We were looking for a fun comedy and came across the Amazon Prime series. I had a feeling it was going to be good.

I noticed #TheTick trending on Twitter. These days I find some of my best stories originate from Twitter. I’d love to hear your take on the new TV show. Here are my thoughts on the new Amazon Prime series.

First of all, the acting was over the top, borderline bad. I don’t remember ever seeing the cartoon, but if I did it was probably better than this malarkey. I think it should have stayed a cartoon; at least in that format, I could better understand and excuse the plot holes and poor character developments.

As the Original Entertainment Guru, I value original entertainment. The Tick lacked creativity. You see I heard those jokes before already. I wanted them to say something new and different for a change. It didn’t happen. Comedy is all about discovering new perspectives. At the end of the day, I saw the same ole perspective. I had high expectations for The Tick. Maybe, I set the bar too high.

On the bright side, the cinematography was fine. I think it was a good setting. Still, there wasn’t enough excitement for me. It has potential in a parallel universe.

Overall, I gave it 2 stars out of 5. After watching the pilot and the second episode, we had to call it a day. It wasn’t our cup of tea. It wasn’t a total waste of time though, because I took a nap.

They tried to be like the Green Lantern, but failed. I haven’t seen this much bad TV in a long time. I was disappointed. Who’s watching The Tick? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
