Let’s discuss new school vs. old school. Migos Vs. Wu Tang Clan is an interesting comparison. The Migos belong to the new edition and the Wu Tang Clan are original gangsters.

Both groups have similarly creative names and make unique music. Migos is short for amigos- the Spanish word for friends. And clan means a group of closely knit and interrelated families.

Who doesn’t like listening to Migos? These Hip-Hop artists have been active since 2008, but not until recently has their music topped the charts. Migos, consisting of Takeoff, Quavo, and Offset, are commercially successful and relevant. Their songs have been showcased by Spotify, Apple Music, and more. 

Who remembers their extremely popular iPhone commercial?
Migos are new school with an old school vibe. The Walk It Talk It music video generates good vibrations. Migos are modern-day Beach Boys if the surfer singers could rap.

Wu Tang Clan’s music was commercially successful and stays relevant. Google made the widely popular Shimmy song commercial a couple years ago. Moreover, C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) is Wu Tang Clan’s most famous song because money equates to success and relevancy. Still by no stretch of imagination- are they a one hit wonder.

Without question, Wu Tang Clan have made their mark on music history. Complex has complied a list of Wu Tang Clan’s 100 best songs. The rappers maintain a strong influence on a generation of music artists. Also, the band of brothers illustrate the importance of brotherhood.

Could you imagine a Migos and Wu Tang Clan collaboration? I’ve learned to not rule out anything. Plus, music is the common denominator.

Whoever Migos joins forces with, whether it’s Drake or Pusha-T, the group creates transformative music. Perhaps the difference between Migos and Wu Tang Clan are that Migos is mainstream and Wu Tang Clan is niche.

Why Electric Dreams Is Worth Binge-Watching

I highly recommend binge-watching Electric Dreams. You will thoroughly enjoy the Amazon Original by Phillip K. Dick. It is a very entertaining series from the start. The anthology is a collection of intriguing episodes sparking your imagination. This blog post will review the first episode called ‘Real Life.’

In episode 1, Anna Paquin’s character and Terrence Howard’s character share a virtual fantasy world together where they live out each other’s lives in ‘Electric Dreams.’ Anna Paquin is a lesbian policewoman and Terrance Howard is a Tech billionaire. They visual another world- one futuristic and the other modern day. Anna Paquin lives in the future, and Terrence Howard lives in 2012.

Through these virtual headsets and microchips they’re able to connect with each other. In other words, there are two worlds on a collision course. Unfortunately, in both worlds they suffer tragedies. Howard’s character loses his wife and Paquin’s character ultimately enters a coma.

It is not a coincidence that the two main characters share the same lover. The episode reveals many connections such as the same scenery. As the story unfolds, you’ll find familiar places and similar scenarios.

The setting takes place in futuristic and present day Chicago. It revolves around ‘real life’ and science. Technology is a major theme. Moreover, how technology connects us and divides us is explored.

The actors did an amazing job. Every detail was well thought out and the cinematography was incredible. Give credit to the director and producers.

Finally, the episode warns people about the pitfalls of virtual reality. On the one hand, virtual reality is good because it’s an escape mechanism. They call it a vacation. On the other hand, virtual reality is bad because it ultimately leads to disconnection.

Electric Dreams explores the dynamics of society in multiple ways. In the future, we have flying cars and holograms but less compassion. Still, in both worlds, we need more compassion.

Joe Rogan is one of the most interesting characters in the Non-Marvel Universe we call life. He’s kind of like the Dos Equis guy but without the long gray beard. In other words, he is a true Renaissance Man. Moreover, he kicks butt in more ways than one… through comedy and martial arts.

Just give him a microphone and watch him go. I often find myself listening to his podcasts and watching his comedy specials. Rogan gives everybody something to think about with his unique twist on life.

He has a style about him that makes listeners want more. I have followed Joe Rogan for years. I remember when he was hosting the Fear Factor. I used to watch that show every week.

Joe Rogan is the Renaissance Man of Entertainment because he’s on the cutting edge of popular culture. His podcasts keep you informed. I appreciate his insights.

He cares about being healthy and happy. At the end of the day, all you have is your health and happiness. That’s why I respect Joe Rogan because he champions health and happiness. Plus, he lives a full life.

You should watch his podcasts on YouTube when you get the chance. You’ll find dozens if not hundreds of videos that will entice your ears and eyes. Joe Rogan delivers everything you need.

Joe Rogan is interesting because he is a big personality. He’s kind of like Howard Stern’s successor in a way. He knows what to say and how to say it in a big way. He interviews people with a purpose.

Moreover, Rogan always has a message. He doesn’t simply talk to be talking. The 50 year-old has a method to his madness.  He gives you 100 percent every time he speaks on the microphone. If you like entertainment, you will like this entertainer.

This Saturday I spent some time watching The Tick with family. We were looking for a fun comedy and came across the Amazon Prime series. I had a feeling it was going to be good.

I noticed #TheTick trending on Twitter. These days I find some of my best stories originate from Twitter. I’d love to hear your take on the new TV show. Here are my thoughts on the new Amazon Prime series.

First of all, the acting was over the top, borderline bad. I don’t remember ever seeing the cartoon, but if I did it was probably better than this malarkey. I think it should have stayed a cartoon; at least in that format, I could better understand and excuse the plot holes and poor character developments.

As the Original Entertainment Guru, I value original entertainment. The Tick lacked creativity. You see I heard those jokes before already. I wanted them to say something new and different for a change. It didn’t happen. Comedy is all about discovering new perspectives. At the end of the day, I saw the same ole perspective. I had high expectations for The Tick. Maybe, I set the bar too high.

On the bright side, the cinematography was fine. I think it was a good setting. Still, there wasn’t enough excitement for me. It has potential in a parallel universe.

Overall, I gave it 2 stars out of 5. After watching the pilot and the second episode, we had to call it a day. It wasn’t our cup of tea. It wasn’t a total waste of time though, because I took a nap.

They tried to be like the Green Lantern, but failed. I haven’t seen this much bad TV in a long time. I was disappointed. Who’s watching The Tick? Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Marlon & Naked Movie Review

Yesterday Marlon Wayans returned to prime time TV. Who remembers the Wayans Brothers? His new sitcom is simply called Marlon. As expected, Marlon is hilarious like the man it is named after. 2 episodes aired back to back on NBC. So, families were rewarded with a full hour of funny. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Marlon goes wild. I’ve never seen a comedian more physical than him. Have you? He reminded me of Martin. I feel Marlon has gotten funnier over the years.
The other characters were great too. I got love for Essence Atkins and her portrayal of Marlon’s ex wife. Plus, Bresha Webb had a nice role.
I want to see Marlonsucceed. There are 8 shows already lined up; and I believe there’s potential for more. If you want to literally laugh your ass off, then watch Marlon Wayans perform on Mondays.
In addition, Marlon Wayans has a new movie on Netflix called Naked. The movie was released on August 11th. I highly recommend seeing the movie. I watched it last night. You’ll enjoy the film because it’s original.
The film is about a substitute teacher (Marlon Wayans) marrying a doctor (Regina Hall). Her father thinks she could do a lot better. I don’t want to give away too much of the plot because I want you to watch it. However, Marlon’s character gets stuck in an elevator naked over and over again. I believe you’ll like it.

Wayans plays the hell out of the character. Overall, Naked was well written. I gave it 5 stars because that’s the highest rating you could give. Brian McKnight makes a noteworthy appearance. Does he get naked too? You got to watch and see.
Marlon Wayans isn’t putting all his eggs into one basket. He is diversifying his talents. Moreover, he has mastered comedy.

Daniel Craig confirmed that he will return to play James Bond in an upcoming film. At Guru Jay, we recognize the best. Which brings me to my question: Who is the best James Bond? Is Daniel Craig the best to ever play James Bond? I want to know your thoughts. Here are mine.

First of all, I don’t believe Daniel Craig is the best. I thought the producers were trying to find a new James Bond. Didn’t you think the same thing? What happened? Daniel Craig doesn’t compare to Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan. I’m sorry. Now his movies are great but his acting is only good when compared to the legends. I don’t think I’m being harsh. Maybe, I am but you want my honest opinion I’ll give it to you.

Daniel Craig doesn’t have charisma like Connery and Brosnan. There is a reason our grandmas love Sean Connery to a fault. And our mothers couldn’t get enough of Brosnan back in the day. I don’t want to knock Daniel Craig too much, but it’s time for a new James Bond.

I believe the greatest actor to play James Bond is Sean Connery. However, I believe the best James Bond is Pierce Brosnan. Sean Connery is one of the greatest actors of all time, but he’s not the essence of James Bond. Pierce Brosnan is the essence of James Bond. When James Bond comes to mind, I think of Piece Brosnan first.

What are your favorite James Bond movies? My favorite James Bond movie is Die Another Day. I enjoyed the Halle Berry iconic bikini beach scene. After you read this blog, I recommend you check out this interesting Wikipedia Page. You’ll discover there has been a total of 13 James Bonds.

To conclude, the second best James Bond is Sean Connery. Daniel Craig is probably in the top five but Pierce Bronsan is the best James Bond unequivocally. Let’s start the discussion.

Sam Hunt is scheduled to perform at the CMA Fest on Wednesday. Maybe, after reading this blog post you will tune into the event to see him. It all starts tomorrow at 8 pm on ABC. The biggest names will perform from Blake Shelton to Luke Bryan, and Carrie Underwood. I know people who are watching strictly because of Sam Hunt’s appearance though. The celebrity is having a great year.

Sam Hunt is down to earth and out of this world. His music is undeniably great. Greatness recognizes greatness. I’m interested in seeing what’s next in store for Sam Hunt. The 15 in a 30 Tour is going viral on Instagram and Twitter. Hunt’s music doesn’t appear to be slowing down; he’s going full speed ahead. I look forward to his future albums, singles, and concerts. It would be nice to see him live in concert.

I know Sam Hunt will give a phenomenal performance. The 32 year old singer originates out of Nashville, Tennessee. So, the Country singer will be right at home. He can kick off his boots and make himself comfortable. I expect the Body Like a Back Road singer to throw a few curveballs and sliders here and there. It should be fun time because of a sexy crowd. Country music lovers are some of the best fans in the world. A Country Star is only as good as his fans. What is Sam Hunt without Hunters?

I consider Take Your Time to be a classic. Did you know Take Your Time went Platinum 4 times? Body Like a Back Road went Platinum 3 times already. It’s only a matter of time before Sam Hunt wins a Grammys. There’s a Grammy with his name on it. What do you think is the best Sam Hunt song?

In a nutshell, Sam Hunt will give a phenomenal performance because he is phenomenal.
