The Definition of Great Music

Great music comes in many forms. Rap, pop, rock, country and jazz are just the tip of the iceberg. Great music is like glaciers in the arctic. It is really the size of Antarctica. It’s not the same as a generation ago, but great music is still there floating…waiting to be discovered. Will you discover it?

Have you ever listened to classical? To define great music, we must look at who controls the music. The Record labels own your ass. I’m sure you heard about how Taylor Swift is rerecording her music. She is thinking outside the box. I feel the record labels don’t want you to be free.

What if Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach were legally bound to a record label. In other news, Hasbro now owns Death Row records. A toy company is the owner of gangsta rap records. If you don’t have a problem with that, you shouldn’t have a problem with Taylor Swift rerecording her music.

Do you think corporations are ruining music? Here are my thoughts. Corporations are actually making music better. Sway doesn’t have the answers, neither does Kanye.

We’re hearing great music from all around the world because of corporations that make it possible for artists to reach the masses. Corporations are sponsoring great music everywhere. Apple Music, VEVO, and Spotify provide great tools for discovery.

I’m also sure you heard Jay Z (ROC Nation) made a deal with the NFL. Jay Z may even become a part-owner of a football team according to TMZ. It’s an interesting development.

The point is everything is changing fast. You gotta keep up with the times. Great music is everywhere. Rihanna is a private flight away from performing at a concert near you. That’s who should do the halftime show if you ask me.

Corporations are not saints. In the end, the bottom line is profit for them. In my opinion, art shouldn’t be corporatized. However, the definition of great music is a profitable sound.

Migos Vs. Wu Tang Clan

Migos Vs. Wu Tang Clan

Let’s discuss new school vs. old school. Migos Vs. Wu Tang Clan is an interesting comparison. The Migos belong to the new edition and the Wu Tang Clan are original gangsters.

Both groups have similarly creative names and make unique music. Migos is short for amigos- the Spanish word for friends. And clan means a group of closely knit and interrelated families.

Who doesn’t like listening to Migos? These Hip-Hop artists have been active since 2008, but not until recently has their music topped the charts. Migos, consisting of Takeoff, Quavo, and Offset, are commercially successful and relevant. Their songs have been showcased by Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

Who remembers their extremely popular iPhone commercial?
Migos are new school with an old school vibe. The Walk It Talk It music video generates good vibrations. Migos are modern-day Beach Boys if the surfer singers could rap.

Wu Tang Clan’s music was commercially successful and stays relevant. Google made the widely popular Shimmy song commercial a couple years ago. Moreover, C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) is Wu Tang Clan’s most famous song because money equates to success and relevancy. Still by no stretch of imagination- are they a one hit wonder.

Without question, Wu Tang Clan have made their mark on music history. Complex has complied a list of Wu Tang Clan’s 100 best songs. The rappers maintain a strong influence on a generation of music artists. Also, the band of brothers illustrate the importance of brotherhood.

Could you imagine a Migos and Wu Tang Clan collaboration? I’ve learned to not rule out anything. Plus, music is the common denominator.

Whoever Migos joins forces with, whether it’s Drake or Pusha-T, the group creates transformative music. Perhaps the difference between Migos and Wu Tang Clan are that Migos is mainstream and Wu Tang Clan is niche.

Last night on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, French Montana performed Famous from his new album ‘Jungle Rules.’ He demonstrated his mastery of flow like a fire guzzler onstage with the world watching. As he spat fire, it reminded of a hypothetical Pitbull and Drake Rap battle. Moreover, the crowd went wild while the curvaceous belly dancers swayed from side to side in spectacular fashion and gorgeous garments.

I wish I could of been in the building at that time. It was that good. Nothing is better than live entertainment. Going to concerts and soaking up the atmosphere is priceless.

It was his first live TV performance of the new song; and, he did not disappoint fans. Like DJ Khaled, all French Montana does is win. How can you lose with good music on your side. Plus, all the ladies were into his groove.

Over the years, French Montana has made a big name for himself. He is Grammy nominated. Plus, he is platinum certified.

I can see songs from ‘Jungle Rules’ being included on a movie soundtrack. It’s only a matter of time before the movie industry gets its hands on this diamond. I’ve listened to the songs and the music is in a category of its own.

Checkout Famous. FrenchMontanaVevo released the music video today; and it is all that you expect it to be and more. The Moroccan-American represents his roots and does his native land of Morocco proud. The video shows clips of the beautiful countryside, city, and people.

Have you listened to French Montana’s latest album ‘Jungle Rules’ yet? What are you waiting for? It’s fire! ‘Jungle Rules’ is available on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon Digital, Tidal and practically everywhere else they sell music. You have no excuse NOT to listen to awesome music, when there are so many options.

What Taylor Swift song gets you going? Shake It Off, Blank Space, You Belong with Me, and End Game are my favorites. Without question, Taylor Swift’s career has reached a superstardom level and Taylor Swift is a durable brand name.

I believe Taylor Swift is the face of Apple Music. Apple Music needs Taylor Swift’s sound like buttermilk pancakes need buttermilk. Doctors recommend not to skip a healthy breakfast. Gurus recommend not to skip a great Taylor Swift song.

I could listen to Taylor Swift all day long because she has so many hits. She is certified platinum every time she produces a new album. Moreover, she is rewarded for her talent. To date, she has won 10 Grammys.

Whether you listen to Taylor on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify or VEVO, nothing beats consuming her music. When the singer gets together with producers, they always have the fans on the back of their minds while making beats. Swifties love Taylor Swift because she is something special.

Taylor Swift released her End Game video two days ago. I saw it and was amazed. She and Ed Sheeranhave good chemistry. Like Sheeran, Swift is one of the most exciting musicians in the world. I only wish she would make a song with Beyonce.

Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform at the Super Bowl for good reason. All eyes will be on her as she is sure to razzle and dazzle fans around the world. Football and Taylor Swift were made for each other.

Taylor Swift has a reputation. She is one of the biggest names in music. Plus, she challenges herself to get better. Some music artists stay in the safe lane, but not Taylor. She jumped from country to pop music with purpose.

It’s easy to see why Taylor Swift is the face of Apple Music. You must respect Taylor Swift because she gives respect. The Urban Legend may very well become a living legend.

Why The Weeknd Is On Fire

BY: GURU JAY

Have you seen the YouTube video explaining how to create a hologram on your smartphone? Can you imagine watching The Weeknd Can’t Feel My Face video in 3D? Have you seen the part when he’s dancing while on fire? And all this time, you thought only Fantastic Four characters could do that.
Right now the Canadian singer has the number 1 Billboard Hot 100 song. He was born to sing. He thrills music fans.  What is more, the story of chasing your dreams never gets old.
Did you know The Weekend dropped out of high school when he was 17? How many great entertainers skip college? To paraphrase, Ellen DeGeneres told the Tulane University graduating class “they wasted their money.”

The Love Me Harder singer gets plenty of love and money. Like Lenny Kravitz and Bruno Mars, his groupies are enthusiastic about him. And like a Rolling Stone, the tempting lyricist aka Papa has a home alongside a hat.
Moreover, this 25 year old has youth on his side. But, the artist remains controversial because he frequently references drugs in his music. Despite being explicit, the celebrity completes his objectives. Entertainers should entertain. That’s all.
If celebs want to voice their objections, more power to them. Be aware though that politics is filthier than adult entertainment. Hollywood bosses and music executives look like saints compared to Presidential candidates.

I like that the Weekend isn’t politically correct because political correctness paralyzes pop culture. The Weeknd represents a challenge to the status quo. You see The Weeknd is popular because his lyrics and music videos are not safe for weekdays.

Remember the Alicia Keys song “this girl is on fire!” Well, the Weeknd is on fire too! This boy needs a fire extinguisher, pronto. Give The Weeknd 5 years. He is destined to explode.
